Republicans insist they will fight for their issues when they can, but they also might simply take a front-row seat to see if Democrats implode.

Sounds like a plan. Pass the popcorn.

I have been expecting this since 5 Nov.

Not to sound like Peggy Noonan-- because I think that Obama is an Affirmative Action Embarrassment and closet Marxist--but I think that the Obama Presidency might not be as bad as many Freepers fear. And this article lays out one possible reason why.

Furthermore, Fate has a way of confounding the conventional wisdom. Did anyone eight years ago forsee 9/11 and the liberation of Iraq and Afghanistan? Dubya was not looking for overseas wars-- but he got them. So I can only wonder what surprises will derail the Demo-commie agenda...

It’s awesome when Liberals eat their own.

This is a very simplistic view.

The Dems have done a remarkable job keeping their party on the same page for the past 8 years. Even in the minority, they held sway over the political agenda, due to the spineless GOP and President Bush with his “new tone”.

The Dems paid no price for their perfidy and near treason on Iraq in 2006 or 2008, when they made gains with the electorate.

My fear is that their party discipline will far outweigh that of the feckless GOP. It is the GOP that will splinter, not the Dems.

That’s why we need a new Conservative Prty. We have no longer a home in the GOP.

Speak for yourself.

it’s easy to be united when all you have to do is say “No more Bush!” for 8 years.

LBJ was planning to reshape the United States into a Europe style Socialist state, and the Dems had nearly 2/3rds control of Congress to back him up on it... then he got a little sidetracked in a place called Vietnam. Obama has been apparently aching for a fight with Pakistan...

Because if I didn’t say it with sarcastic bile I’d cry over my poor [deceived] country.

Speak for yourself.

I always do, my friend.

But let's be honest. The GOP leaders in DC are already blaming McCain's defeat on not following the Obama model.

Do you not see where this is headed?

I guess hope springs eternal.

But we are already being marginalized in the party we put into power.

The GOP would rather listen to the whining of the squishy middle, then stand for anything anymore.

Watch and see if you see any sustained opposition to the Messiah.

I hate to say it, but the same thing happens to whatever party is in power. When you include all the representatives that come from various parts of the country, it inevitably results in the party in power being pulled in different directions.

The Dems will fail, and then the Pubbies will take over, the Pubbies will fail, and then the Dems will take over.. as long as we have the country divided the way it is, this will be the pattern.

YES! It never would have happened if McCain won, in that case Reps vs Reps would continue. Watch them try to get republicans on board.

The pre-election hysteria had Pelosi just commanding democrats vote, but dynamics change makes a big difference. No republican to veto and blame.

No, when you use the pronoun "we" you are presuming to speak for others as well.

We was used in the context of conservatives. I could have made that clearer.

We was used in the context of conservatives.

I understood your meaning. And thus you were not speaking just for yourself as you attested.
