For the first time in my 61 years and ever since Nov 4, I really believe the sky is falling.

I think this will do even more damage to the economy than the tax hikes.

And a weaker economy results in a dirtier environment. Going green is for the rich.

Obama said he would introduce "a federal cap and trade system to reduce America's emissions of carbon dioxide to their 1990 levels by 2020 and reduce them an additional 80 percent by 2050."

Organized crime that will dwarf the previous mega-scam, "Oil for Food".

They will be throwing billions around like tissue, and the men in suits taking their cut at every step of the way. The gamers at Enron could only dream of a game this sweet; this is money laundering on steroids, this is the Everest of finance, where you get to create paper based on nothing at all. Imagine: value based on absolutely nothing at all.

Of course it’s urgent, because any warming is OVER.

It’s difficult to get people to do anything about warning when it isn’t happening. There has been a huge decrease in solar activity, and now it’s COLD... like it was in the ‘good ol’ days’. If they don’t move on global warming now, they will miss the opportunity, because the entire theory is about to be exposed for the bullshit that it is.

Just wait until the brown-shirts from Obama’s National Police Force show up to arrest people for using gas-powered mowers to mow their lawns.

While the article makes some valid points, some of it’s “science” is sloppy too, to say the least. For example, the paragraph about sea levels is poor.
Over the past 10k years, initially averaged global temperatures continued to increase, then dipped, then increased again, but since about 8000 years ago they’ve slowly fallen, until fairly recently, when they started rising again. And I’m pretty sure most of that 400 ft. increase in sea levels was due to the Earth coming out of it’s last period of glaciation, not the relatively stable “nice” period that has (most unusually) persisted for the last 10k years or so.

Additionally, in prior cycles, as the Earth comes out of long glacial periods (what most people call an “Ice Age”), the pattern has NOT been one of continued gradual warming. What typically happens is a brief peak, usually at significantly higher temperatures than at present, and then temps take another big dive again.

We are, most likely, well overdue for the start of another very cold spell. For whatever reasons, the current pattern / nice spell we are in is NOT typical of the cycles, and we are darn lucky it is not!

(Note: The black “average” in this 2nd graph is MUCH TOO AVERAGED — nonetheless, the last 10,000 years has been an unusually stable period.)

Of course there’s a hurry in combating “Global Warming!”

They need to implement the plans and enact the taxes and restrictions on us all before even the most dim among us realize that it’s all a hoax, designed to turn the USA into a 3rd world country, and ensure that we follow the UN’s guidelines.

Coastlines are shrinking.

Strange - I haven't seen them move any of our coastline hotels here in Florida(?)

“The science is beyond dispute”

I guess 0bama isn’t as bright as people seem to think...

There’s considerable controversy over the basis for global warming via CO2. Even if there were some CO2 contribution, it looks as though we’re in for some significant cooling from other factors.

Why not wait for better technology, data and ideas? Don’t we have other problems to address now?

We need leaders that can make the tough decisions, not just promise to throw large amounts of money at every problem. That money tree is just about picked clean.

"Few challenges facing America and the world are more urgent than combating climate change. While Bambi has many publicly schooled friends in the Green Koolaid department, Envirowackos have become very tiring if not boring in their elitism. This new ambulance chaser is no different....in reality: "Few challenges facing America and the world are less urgent than combating climate change (we still are wondering why it's no longer global warming we're spending money on)." Obviously you can spend much more money if you're spending it on both global warming and global cooling, not to mention global constant temperatures (tho' I guess then it would be global climate no change).

Ha. The best way to prevent global warming on a massive scale is to make sure Iran doesn’t get the nukes they want. Otherwise say bye-bye to London, Jerusalem and several major cities in the U.S., which Amanutjob has sworn upon his rotten soul to wipe off the face of the earth. The peaceniks have no idea just how hot a nuclear blast really is.
