Sarah has to change peoples' minds in segments of the electorate that turned against her in the campaign if she is to have a real shot at the presidency in 2012. The first step in that direction is to actually be in their minds.

The comment from the Republican media type at the end of this article is encouraging:

David All, a Republican new media consultant, notes that the uninterrupted attention offers Palin an unprecedented political opportunity even if a good portion of the curiosity comes from her detractors.

“There’s a heckuva lot of wind out there for Sarah Palin. Now she has to put up a sail to catch it,” he said. “She can use that Internet bully pulpit to help change the hearts and minds of folks. She has a unique opportunity to build up something massive.”

It's up to her to seize the opportunity.

Bush wins with 51%, I recall reading “narrowly wins”.

Obama wins with 52%, it’s a “sweeping defeat”.

Yeah, no bias interjected here folks.

Why in the world are you posting stuff from Politico?? Their credibility (and direction of bias) is no better than the NYT. Screeching liberal propaganda, pure and simple.

“People are still searching for her in record numbers,” said Kathy O’Reilly, a spokeswoman for Lycos. “How bizarre is that?

I'm guessing Kathy doesn't understand the hotness factor.

Kathy has to be a liberal... else she'd understand why people love Palin.

I believe that she will be our next Conservative President and that she will indeed be our first female President and I will work my fingers to the bone to get her elected.

Did the Palin daughter ever marry the young man? I read that she was really resisting her mother’s request.

It is also possible that Palin allowed McPain to make her into another Quayle, as Quayle allowed the Bushes to do to him. She, like Quayle, will be hence unelectable in the future. Quayle even left IN as well as politics.

“sweeping defeat”

i have a county by county map here I printed from a FR post with each county colored red or blue. It reveals clearly that mostly the populous urban centers were in red while most of the country red. Sure they did win, but certainly not in a “sweeping” fashion. It is a mostly red country area-wise, but we don't vote by county.

In the next few years I expect Palin to hone her skills with the national press. What did her in were the sliced and diced Gibson and Couric interviews. She will be come more savvy and will be a Republican superstar in the near future. I can't wait!

Sarah has earned the loyalty of millions of Americans. The fervor with which the left scorns her, proves what a threat she is to them. Sarah Palin is a fearless conservative warrior. As a conservative woman, I adopted the refrain of “I am Sarah Palin.” She is the only bright light that shined in this dismal election. She does have a big political future ahead of her. She was mobbed everywhere she gave an election speech. She has a huge grass roots following. The liars and spinners in the MSM can’t stop her, she speaks directly to the people, like Ronald Reagan did.

And the fans still love her...

Yep, her celebrity status doesn't seem to be fading. She can still draw a crowd -- even at a local basketball tournament...

Thank goodness this isn't a Walmart in Long Island.

it was not a sweeping defeat....considering the zero had over $600,000,000 in his campaign alone, not to mention all the pacs etc....to McCains somewhat piddling amt...and considering that zero was running for two years....and considering that not one single hard question was ever asked of him.....<P “sweeping defeat”?...hardly...zero won by a little more than the hated Bush......and if McCain had run a brigher campaign instead of one he didn’t think he could win , we would be saying hello Ms Vice President...
