Dr. Dobson: 'We Won’t Be Silenced'
Citizenlink.com ^ | 11-25-2008 | James C. Dobson, Ph.D.

So, Kathleen Parker has determined that getting rid of social conservatives and shelving the values they fight for is the solution to what ails the Republican Party (“Giving Up on God,” Nov. 19). Isn’t that a little like Benedict Arnold handing George Washington a battle plan to win the Revolution?

Whatever she once was, Ms. Parker is certainly not a conservative anymore....

Dobson does not know what “conservative” means in history or by definition.

Perhaps, then, you can explain to those of us who believe that a conservative believes in America's founding ideals:

VIRTUE

RIGHTS to LIFE, LIBERTY, PROPERTY

This is your opportunity.

I am not disagreeing or even trying to be contrary , but did Dr. Dobson's late endorsement cause some to vote for Obama or to sit out this election ? Are you suggesting he should have endorsed a candidate during the primary ? I know many , many people influenced by Dr. Dobson and they all voted GOP .

How about we step back to when the ‘fiscal’ supposed powers that be, made Republican primaries open lotteries for any and all who would like to dilute votes for a candidate that would be easily defeated.

Lord McCain was NOT my choice but I did vote for Sarah, as I had already stated I would NOT vote for the backstabber. Dobson had NO input into who I was voting for and each and every CITIZEN is responsible for their vote or lack thereof.

Very odd line of reasoning.

Expel 25% of the electorate from the party on the (probably accurate) theory that their presence alienates perhaps 10% of the electorate who might otherwise vote for the GOP.

Methinks Kathy is a little math-challenged.

The next couple of federal elections will most likely be all about the economy and government debt. If Republicans don't focus on these issues for the most part there won't be a big Republican comeback. I'm in the Bible Belt and I got a ton of Republic robo-calls this election and it seems like every one of them started out with something about abortion and traditional marriage. Honestly, those issues were the last thing on my mind this time around. I was a little put off by it. The stock market is tanking. Banks and other industries are failing. The world is coming down around us and all these people can think about is gays and abortion? It's not that these issues aren't important, but there are other much more pressing issues right now. I'm not going to vote for a candidate that doesn't have his priorities straight.

I read Parker’s column and was totally disappointed in her. I agree with Dobson. Generally, conservatives didn’t like McPain, but the RNC forced him upon the party conservatives. Other candidates who were far better candidates than McPain dropped out of the race so fast that one could only surmise that a whole lot of arm twisting was going on behind the scenes to get the others to drop their political aspirations. A younger man (albeit an illegal, inexperienced, corrupt) black man yelling “change” pitted against a very older (albeit more experience) moderate man the sheeple will see the race “change” by voting for the man who represents the biggest change. Black man represented the biggest change. The only type of person that could have beat the black muslim that’s pres-elect was a black woman like Condi race who is far more experienced and better educated than jerkoff who won.

I like Dobson on child rearing and traditional values but his political skills are poor.

We didn’t lose this election due to our social conservative views. We lost because for the past eight years the Republicans in Washington acted like a bunch of Democrats.

I thought Kristol like Palin which admittedly surprised me at the time.

In fact he is on record comparing her to some pretty strongt politicians of lore.
