Actually, it’s a good thing. Ever since the Capitol has been closed down to independent tours (unless you know people who work on the Hill *smiles*), the only way to get in is to show up and wait in line. And wait. And wait. In DC summer temperatures (95 degrees with 95% humidity).
The visitor center will at least let the tourists wait in air conditioned comfort, rather than in DC’s heatstroke-inducing summers.

This jack@ss doesn’t understand that these “tourist” are the people who pay his @#$%* salary. Besides doesn’t congress take all summer off? If not, they should. It would help the economy and maybe they’re approval rating.
