Friday we discussed the anti-gun efforts of the National Council of Jewish Women, a group that claims to be "inspired by Jewish values."
Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership would disagree. Billed as "America's most aggressive defender of firearms ownership," the "twin goals" of JPFO are:
To destroy "gun control" and to encourage Americans to understand and defend all of the Bill of Rights for everyone...
Founded by Jews and initially aimed at educating the Jewish community about the historical evils that Jews have suffered when they have been disarmed, JPFO has always welcomed persons of all religious beliefs who share a common goal of opposing and reversing victim disarmament policies while advancing liberty for all.
They're not a lobbying organization. Their work is done through education, via books, videos, pamphlets...

Yes OKSooner, I “shout” in solidarity with my jewish friends and get mighty exasperated (and we’ve “shouted” at each other!) over the demographics of those voting or supporting Obama! “Come, let us reason together” sounds great but what does it take to convince who I regard as generally very reasonable people, just what Obama is about? Please explain.
Also, am I confusing JPFO with the group that dissed Sarah Palin during that golden opportunity??
We’ve had these talks before the election and drat it, again, demographics prove my point, now more than ever. Give up? No, of course not but as we all slide slowly into some form of slavery, how much more patience will it take? “Seventy times seven” I would imagine...
Some actually do vote "conservative" such as those here on FR. In fact some of those Jews are firearms owners themselves. Don't paint with too broad of a brush, please.
I agree with you that Jews have a lot to lose in 'Rat administrations. But so do all Americans, especially middle class white males - and some of them are Jews too!
My friend that I mentioned is not a guy that I care to argue with either - his brain runs at about ten times the cycle rate of an average person.
In his case, I guess I can be happy to say that I took a friend shooting. He's a shooter now, and I helped. I would hope that he will have some pull with his peeps where I haven't.
BTW, interesting story about this guy, who I won't mention by name. You've heard of "Goldberg", the pro rassler? He grew up here in my home town, and went to the same private Hebrew school as my friend. Goldberg was a year younger. The school put on a rasslin' tournament for the boys - my friend was in 1st grade and Goldberg in Kindgergarten or the equivalent of it. Turned out that my bud is the only human being who ever pinned Bill Goldberg.
I love to tell that story about him. If you could meet him you'd appreciate it.
Oh, yeah, your second question. I don’t know who it was who dissed Sarah that you referred to so I couldn’t say if it was JPFO or not. I would hope not.
The only Jewish group I can think of that "dissed" Sarah Palin during the recent campaign is the National Democratic Jewish Council. That organization can better be described as "leftist" than "Jewish". I'd be confident that JPFO has no connection whatsoever to them.

It most likely was the NDJC, a terrible missed opportunity but *sigh* ‘tis passed. I would never intentionally diss my jewish friends, as a dear friend D_____ Wassermann often said, “We must learn to bless each other Ronald, and take a deep breath, then start again!” How can you not love such a man?
I was purchasing his optics from his NY company, he would fly to Texas and practically melt regardless if it was mid-winter here, that’s how big an account we had, or was it that he loved a good “discussion” with a gentile friend that didn’t stay mad? I think that was it.
I don’t know how we’ll get through this, just face into the hurricane, hunch our shoulders and keep on keeping on.

I've known two Jewish wrestlers, one pro from decades ago, one college, but not "Goldberg". Sounds like a good story though.
It wasn't JPFO, they're a small Wisconsin organization. Ironically a state with hardly any Jews, and two Jewish Senators.
The anti-Iran rally was organized by several groups. Personally I'd place most of the blame Clinton/Obama. Having Palin only would have politicized the event, and opposition to Iran should be bi-partisan. A shame our upcoming Secretary of State put her personal ambitions above delivering that message.

I mean given that Jonah Goldberg, Mark Levin, and probably 1/4 of the active posters on FreeRepublic are Jewish folk, you’re a bright spark.
