NEW YORK – The New York Times is reporting that NBC has signed its late-night star Jay Leno to a contract that will keep him at the network and move him to prime time.

Under the new deal, Leno, whose "Tonight" show hosting job will go to Conan O'Brien, would have a new show airing 10 p.m. Eastern every weeknight.

The deal reportedly will be announced Tuesday.

Thanks. I quit watching late night TV when the crybaby took over for Steve Allen. Picked it up again for a while with Johnny but couldn’t stand any of the new ones so TV is off after prime time. There are a few good shows on now; NCIS, TBBT, 2&1/2 Men, Leverage, Numb3rs, Bones, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, Life, The Mentalist. Fills up my week and I tape when there is a conflict...no TVIO.

Yes, I’m aware he’s quite a car collector. Maybe he’d like a ‘57 Lincoln MarkII, lol.

What on earth does a motorcycle with a jet engine DO?? Fly?

.

Leno has the first of the new Ford GT40s

He has quite an engine restoration crew and has helped develop some interesting new engines

He has had the ‘55 Buick Roadmaster since the early 70’s

Unlike algore and mr. creepy Leno does not “talk GREEN” he actually has some very advanced wind-powered electric generators on the roof of his garage and admits it has huge limitations

His Stanley Steamer is a beaut

Leno is the unfunniest man in the USA.

Sorry, but Al Franken has that title for his entire lifetime and as long after his death as his copyrights to his unfunny "humor" exists.

Who gives a shi% what Leno does, says, thinks or anything else!? Just another liberal piss ant that dares not offend the “chosen one” in ANY of his corny, over rehearsed “monologues”. Screw him! People like him can only be hurt by falling ratings. And I pray that’s what happens.

???

Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien are both very talented.

Check your condescension at the door.

Proof was when the writers were on strike and he had to come up with his own jokes

That reminds me. The rumor was that Jeff Zucker was out for blood win the writers went out on strike. With this move, Zucker effectively puts out of business more than a hundred (possibly many more) of writers. To your point, I don't generally watch much TV, but did catch Leno during the strike. Sure, it wasn't great, but it wasn't that much worse than it normally is. FWIW
