Abstract: President-elect Barack Obama said attacking global climate change is a "matter of urgency" that will create jobs as he got advice from Al Gore, who won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work on the issue. Obama made clear he would adopt an aggressive approach to global warming when he takes over the White House on January 20. He and Vice President-elect Joe Biden met for nearly two hours with Gore at Obama's presidential transition office in Chicago. Obama hopes addressing climate change can create the kind of jobs that will help pull the U.S. economy out of a deepening recession. "This is a matter of urgency and of national security and it has to be dealt with in a serious way. That's what I intend my administration to do," Obama said.
Obama had a willing partner in Gore. Just two days after Obama won the November 4 election, Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection rolled out a media campaign to push for immediate investments in energy efficiency, renewable power generation like wind and solar technology and the creation of a unified national power grid.

I have no problem moving away from hydrocarbons.......... just as soon as a viable alternative becomes available, something that can't be brought about by gov't fiat. Elsewise, all we'll see is regression, not the creation of jobs. These bozo's will take us straight to the 19th century.

Yes, I suppose if it becomes too cold in police and fire stations in Winter, response times might drop a little. In that sense, it's a national security issue.
The meeting today was to get stories straight concerning their relationship with Blago. Remember, Gore's 2000 campaign finance chairman has already been sentenced to time in a Federal pen as part of his role in the Blago affair.

I am somewhat amazed that the Algore Effect didn't kick in. That would have meant a foot of snow and temps in the single digits. I guess the heat from the Blago mess canceled it.

I wrote to Senator Inhoffe asking thst if he had all this sound evidence refuting global warming, then why in the heck isn’t htere a MASSIVE campaign to get the TRUTH to the public, and to inform the public so that we can DEMAND that congress not endanger our lives by imposing taxes that we can’t afford to fix a problem that we are not to blame for- I did NOT get a reply.
Senator Inhoffe is hte leading oponent of ‘man-caused’ global wamring, and I think we should ALL flood his office with letters askign him why we are being conned by congress and hte soon to be president and al bore, and ask him why there isn’t a massive effort to get the FACTS about global cyclical climate change to hte public.
The reason congress and obama will get away with this CON is because we the people aren’t demanding that they stop their nonsense and wasting our tax dollars trying to fix somethign we have no control over.
The UN climate change panel just came out and ADMITTED that it’s a ciclical event for crying out loud, but the mainstream media will simply NOT cover that, and we the people DESERVE to be told the truth- not bilked of every last dollar we have!
