A gun rights group says it has launched a court challenge of the University of Colorado's ban on carrying concealed weapons on campus.
The gun rights group says a state law allowing licensed owners to carry concealed weapons has no provision that would permit the university to ban guns. It also says the weapons ban is so broad that it violates the state constitution.

Good luck to them, but I’m afraid they’ll quickly find the law as written is no match for the majestic power of any state judge.

They might look at the fight over campus concealed carry in Utah--it took action by the state legislature to force the professors to abide by state law, IIRC---

The gun rights group says a state law allowing licensed owners to carry concealed weapons has no provision that would permit the university to ban guns.CU in Boulder is not part of the state or even the nation they are the Peoples Republic of Boulder - the proud home of hundreds Ward Churchills. BTW Denver tried to opt out of the concealed carry law - there is an attempt to have so many no gun zones that it is impossible to know if your concealed carry permit is valid from one place to the next. The second amendment is dying the death of a thousand qualifications.

Colorado has become quite “blue” in recent years. I certainly wish them good good luck (they’ll need it).

“No law-abiding adult should be denied the ability to protect herself, either on or off campus,” said William Perry Pendley, president and chief legal officer of Mountain States Legal Foundation.
Michael Guzman, president of Students for Concealed Carry on Campus ... “A total ban on licensed concealed carry does not improve safety and we have seen that such policies can lead to tragedy.”
