He could have at least attacked Obama for favoring drivers’ licenses for illegals.

The GOP needs closed primaries. Especially in 2012 when Democrats won’t have their own primary to participate in.

“Likewise, Global Warning was an issue on which Republicans were unable to attack the Democrats.

The GOP ought to do something to correct way they select their candidate.”

Yet another issue that the idiots running this campaign made her straddle the line on. Why the hell would you pick the woman who fought the federal govt over Polar Bear protection if you wanted a greenie thumb sucker.

Hey MULE-shine, neither one said anything about immigration during the campaign because they knew what the majority of people think about it. Are ya snackin’ on some Mule apples or something?

Well, over 70% of Americans oppose amnesty, that is fact. Theyu can ignore it all they want, it won’t make it go away.

I support Gov Palin 100%.
My previous, & only other, post on this thread critiqued her being maligned.
How this makes me a "cynic" is beyond me.

“As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?

There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?

No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.”

If that interview on Univision during the boiler plate she was in is your big claim to her views on immigration, then you are sucking air.

(Snicker) Thanks!

A new analysis of immigration advertisements finds that the strategy of using immigration as a political wedge issue in the 2008 election cycle was an utter failure," the release stated.

And which candidates exactly were using that 'wedge'? Certainly not McAmnesty or Osocialist. The House Republicans that were reelected were the conservative ones that were anti-amnesty. The MSM is trying to further brainwash the public.

There was a report a couple of days ago that implied that immigration reform is going to the back burner because of the current economic (and employment losses) climate. That may be semi good news.

That's excellent news. I hadn't heard that - I thought it was still one of those 100 days things. I've said all along we need a recession so the masses realize how much illegals cost us. Once everyone is worried about their own jobs and their children's future, then they'll think about the cost of importing poverty and people unwilling to assimilate. People were too complacent about this.

She seemed to be straddling the line frankly.

I was rather disappointed about that. But, given that she was on the ticket with McAmnesty, she likely had no choice.
