When it doesn't go away in five years will Gore promise to go crawl back under a rock and stop his lunacy?

I an amazed at the universal and unanimous scoffing at the concept of global warming on this site

There is balance here, just no koolaid drinkers that believe that Gore knows anything about science. Nobody with any clue about the science would listen to Gore (except a few lickspittles working at NASA).

On the ice issue, there is definitely a long term downward trend in ice in the Arctic, but not Antarctic so there is (or was) northern hemisphere warming for a couple of decades. Whether 2007 was the low point or not is anybody's guess, but the idea of arctic ice disappearing is a nonstarter. No serious global warming scientist would promote that idea for the short run (i.e. five years).

It can’t.

The National Health Foundation is looking at a new 10 year contract for facility support. IF the icecap won’t be there in five years then the contract is a waste of time lol.

This is why so many scoff at Algore. He is a lair, period! We are informed on the subject.

A careful look at these images will clearly show that sea ice has increased in both coverage and thickness in the last 3 years.

Go to the source of the information.

There has not been any significant sun spot activity for several months. It is the sun, not CO2 that is driving climate change.

Solar and Heliospheric Observatory

Algore and his ilk are running a huge scam!

Al Gore: Eco Terrorist

According to The Washington Times and The Associated Press, the Secret Service and the Connecticut River Joint Commission directed Pacific Gas & Electric to unleash approximately 4 billion gallons of water yesterday into the Connecticut River so Gore's rowboat wouldn't get stuck during a 4-mile photo opportunity. The release of the 4 billion gallons from a dam upstream raised the level of the river by 8 to 10 inches, and has drawn the ire of environmental officials in the region.

maybe he and some of his followers can have a jonestown/heaven’s gate scenario. That would remove all the carbon they would otherwise release.

It will not happen, at which time he can claim that it was Obama’s environmental leadership that saved the ice cap.

So if there is unusually cold weather, does that mean it’s global cooling??????

No. It's a manifestation of the same thing. (inhale) (exhale) Man, you have to get with it. Like Einstein, man. You know E=mc^2. That means dirt and energy are the same thing man. (inhale) (exhale) Like the Earth is getting hotter man even when the white stuff falls.

It’s true that the ice extent is greater, but that chart doesn’t show thickness (just concentration). To get thickness they have to measure the altitude of the top of the floating ice and then compensate for a bunch of factors. I don’t think there is very reliable data to compare years.

Al Gore: The entire polar ice cap will disappear within 5 years

I find it interesting that Algore is saying this after his much touted meeting with The One.

This is nothing more than propaganda planned between The One and Algore to push radical and economically painful socialist energy policy changes on the American public.

The pain will be said to be "necessary to avert disaster". It will also be said to be more painful and deeper than it would have been if "Bush and the Republicans had not screwed up the world economy the way they did" and because "they did not do enough sooner".

Make no mistake, they intend to use AGW belief and the current financial crisis as political cover to push very painful socialist energy policy measures.

Here is something that really blows the Global Cooling deniers out of the water. Although they will never admit it.
