Area man leads Obama challenge (Birth Certificate)

QUEENSBURY — A local man’s challenge of President-elect Barack Obama’s citizenship has been garnering national attention, if not credibility.

Robert Schulz of Queensbury is the founder and chairman of We The People, a group dedicated to upholding strict adherence to the state and U.S. constitutions.

He says there’s compelling evidence that Obama was born in Kenya, not on U.S. soil, which he contends would make him ineligible to become president. On Thursday, Schulz mailed letters to all members of the Electoral College, asking them to delay the Dec. 15 official balloting until the citizenship questions are cleared up.

"We really like this guy," he said of Obama, "but we like the Constitution a bit more. For someone who’s dedicated the past 30 years trying to uphold the Constitution, how could I let this go by and maintain any kind of credibility? It’s up to Mr. Obama to set the facts straight and he refuses to do so."

Facts seem to line up against Schulz’s argument. Hawaii Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino and the state’s registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have said they checked health department records and determined there is no doubt Obama was born in Hawaii.

In addition, the nonpartisan Web site www.factcheck.org examined the original document and said it does have a raised seal and the usual evidence of a genuine document. The site also reproduced an announcement of Obama’s birth, including his parents’ address in Honolulu, that was published in the "Honolulu Advertiser" on Aug. 13, 1961.

None of that fazes Schulz, who placed two full-page ads in The Chicago Tribune and on Monday held a news conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

My husband asked me earlier if it was a travel warning or ban. You’d think with a hijacking and Americans being accused by the hijackers of being CIA that it would have been a ban. You have personal experience of a warning in 82. Was there an initial ban downgraded to a warning? I don’t know. I only remember the hijacking. It lasted almost 2 weeks.

Good catch Ronnie

Not much story online there though. Still, it's a crack. Here's the story:

PRESIDENT-elect Barack Obama is being rocked by a series of shocking new lawsuits charging his election was illegal! GLOBE's special report reveals why some national leaders believe his Hawaiian birth certificate was forged - and that America's next commander-in-chief was born in Kenya, which could doom his presidency. It's must reading.

Comments are welcome at the story link above.

YOu got the wrong message — sorry.

Here is the US Code.

§ 1483. Restrictions on loss of nationality

(a) Except as provided in paragraphs (6) and (7) of section 1481 (a) of this title, no national of the United States can lose United States nationality under this chapter while within the United States or any of its outlying possessions, but loss of nationality shall result from the performance within the United States or any of its outlying possessions of any of the acts or the fulfillment of any of the conditions specified in this Part if and when the national thereafter takes up a residence outside the United States and its outlying possessions.

(b) A national who within six months after attaining the age of eighteen years asserts his claim to United States nationality, in such manner as the Secretary of State shall by regulation prescribe, shall not be deemed to have lost United States nationality by the commission, prior to his eighteenth birthday, of any of the acts specified in paragraphs (3) and (5) of section 1481 (a) of this title.

(a) A person who is a national of the United States whether by birth or naturalization, shall lose his nationality by voluntarily performing any of the following acts with the intention of relinquishing United States nationality—

(1) obtaining naturalization in a foreign state upon his own application or upon an application filed by a duly authorized agent, after having attained the age of eighteen years; or

(b) Whenever the loss of United States nationality is put in issue in any action or proceeding commenced on or after September 26, 1961 under, or by virtue of, the provisions of this chapter or any other Act, the burden shall be upon the person or party claiming that such loss occurred, to establish such claim by a preponderance of the evidence. Any person who commits or performs, or who has committed or performed, any act of expatriation under the provisions of this chapter or any other Act shall be presumed to have done so voluntarily, but such presumption may be rebutted upon a showing, by a preponderance of the evidence, that the act or acts committed or performed were not done voluntarily.

I can't imagine there is a single FReeper that believes Obama is on the level.

I believe that BHO was 'on the level' the very first time this concern over his citizenship was made an issue.

That very first time, and that time only, he made a statement that this was a minor embarrassment, not a big issue, and that if exposed, it would bite the people in the rear who tried to use it.

I have been trying to figure out what he meant, and correlate it to any news on the issue.

I think its intersting the MSM label us as “fringe”... I always thought these people were on the fringe:

FACTS:

Left is right.
Bad is good.
Down is up.
The list you gave is now a list of 'the establishment', alias 'the man'.

'WE' are now the revolutionaries,radicals,anarchists.

Thanks, but I should have made the NEWSMAN much more of an ignorant, amoral excuser for criminality in office, abuse of authority and bribery. I was less than honest, so it seems.

I don’t think there was ever a ban, and if there was it was short lived. Kind of a short version of the story of why I was there. My sister met a guy from Pakistan in college in the late 70s. They went to Pakistan in 1981. They decided to stay there and get married. The marriage only lasted a year or so, and she wanted to come home, but his family wouldn’t let her leave unescorted. (cultural thing) I went to go get her and bring her back. His family was very nice, and I never felt that I was in danger. They were very protective of her, but when I came we spent some time in the community and everyone was very welcoming. I was only there for a little over a week.

She traveled to Pakistan once in 1979 and once in 1981. I went in 1982.There were no restrictions at that time. I don’t really remember the hijacking, but I was only 19 at the time and didn’t pay much attention to foreign affairs.

One of the three employees who did the snooping worked for a particular contract agency; the CEO of that agency was a supporter of/advisor to Obama. Embarrassing, to be sure, but several steps short of tying any wrongdoing to the Obama campaign.

Not only innocent but the info seeker kept his job.

The source said there has been no problem in the past with the Analysis Corp. employee, who has "extensive" experience. The worker has been with the company for years and has always worked under a State Department contract.

Explaining that the department had "complimented" this person for work in the past, the source said the individual is considered a "terrific" employee, except for this one instance, characterized as an "aberration."

Yup. Stellar employee just snooped on his own. You're awfully busy defending Dems and Obama.
