Send a message to President-Elect Obama about the FairTax
Americans For Fair Taxation ^

Posted on 12/16/2008 4:58:35 PM PST by Man50D

The most compelling messages to elected officials are those in your own words, not just some cookie-cutter form letter. So please take a moment to craft a personal note about the FairTax. And remember, regardless of whomever you voted for in the general election, we all need to make Mr. Obama into a FairTax supporter, so please be courteous in your message about the FairTax.

In terms of talking points about how the FairTax can save our economy, you can view our detailed talking points or look below for some key points to highlight:

Rescue the homeowner and you rescue the economy The FairTax will end the harmful practice of withholding taxes from paychecks, and millions of Americans will see a huge boost in their take home pay--enough to save their homes and pay mortgage bills.

A $10 trillion dollar stimulus program funded with private investments Economists say the FairTax will attract literally trillions of dollars into our economy from offshore. That means new jobs right here in America (a point I know you readily appreciate), higher wages and a stock market that goes up instead of down.

Bring Back the "Made in America" Label The FairTax ends the retail price disadvantage American producers suffer under the income tax system. The income tax system adds up to 20% to the price of American products and that chases our manufacturing and service industries offshore. The FairTax gives American companies--and jobs--a fair chance.

Our economy works when wage earners prosper The FairTax makes our economy works again and restores consumer confidence by putting more money in wage earners' pockets. It attacks the problem at the base of the pyramid where average people live--not at the pinnacle. It ends the tax disincentives to upward mobility, savings, investment and capital formation.

What do you want to bet that if Obama went for the Fair Tax, he would have the tax rate set so high it would break everyone. Becareful what you ask for.

Would the Clintons support this “Fair Tax”? Good luck with this.

Duncan Hunter will win a nationwide primary before the "fair tax" gets off the ground.

Flat income tax = good.

Flat sales tax = no chance.

Any version of the Flat income tax stands far less of a chance than The Fair Tax considering The Fair Tax has 76 cosponsors whereas the four flat income tax related bills combined have a grand total of 11 cosponsors. The major flaws with a flat income tax is it still maintains the IRS and continues to prevent the people from choosing how much and how often they are taxed by taxing their hard earned wages before they see the paycheck.

I’m pretty much a supporter of the Fair Tax.

Realize that nObama’s “vision” is diametrically opposed to the Fair Tax vision.

Fair Tax had a mild chance under Pres Bush. It has NO chance under King Zer0.

It's always good to see blind moles like you surface when the Fair Tax gets brought up. I guess true patriots like you prefer the IRS and Communist Manifesto's 2nd plank.

What I find sad is that only about 10% of America's population participated materially in the War of Independence. The other 90% were like you: Apathetic, defeatist, and/or loyal to the Crown.

Frankly, I'd rather hang than live next to the likes of fat, happy parasites like you. And no doubt, we are coming to the point where one side (the Fair Tax "nuts" like me) or the other (income tax-worshiping Marxists like you) will come to blows, and one of us will face the gallows. If my side is triumphant, no doubt at the last minute, you'd recant. If your side succeeds, I'll hang, and your descendants will drown in the darkness you've backed for decades.

Drop off faster.

a national sales tax will turn into what Gov Paterson plans for NY. We’ll have special taxes on regular coke and fat and anything the govt doesn’t like.

Your reply, so typical of a fairtaxer, full of anger, insults, venom, disparagement, and hyperbole, is exactly why the unfairtax will never get anywhere.

Read the tagline. He saw you guys coming 100 years ago.

And, while you’re at it, politely inform him you are opposed to abortion, gun control and socialism. This letter writing campaign is sure to work. There’s no sense using a separate stamp for each issue. /s

The Fairtax movement is dead for the next four years, if not forever. No way will these bozo socialist willingly give up the progressive income tax! Karl Marx would roll over in his grave!

So what. Is someone forcing you to buy these things?

A lot of ignorance about the Fair Tax is being reflected here.

Not nearly as much ignorance as is being shown by the unfairtaxers when it comes to the political reality of the day.

Atta way to answer the points, patriot. You're damned right I'm full of anger and venom. Your evasive, oozing acquiescence is the reason our founding principles have withered in the heat of uncaring, creeping tyranny, and your compatriots steal tips from waitresses and pennies from grandmothers. And you defend them, cheer them on, and whine "Oh, what's a boy to do, nothing better than Marx's 2nd plank for us is possible".

The sort of immorality you swear allegiance to is my enemy. You are the reason America won't be here in another 10 years if your type prevails.

Still got that "Obama '08" bumper sticker on your Volvo?
