Cracks in the global warming consensus..
SF Politics Examiner ^ | December 22, 2008 | Arthur Bruzzone

Posted on 12/24/2008 6:33:38 AM PST by RogerFGay

The UN global warming conference held in Poland last week faced a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and former Vice President Al Gore.

Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN.

The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007.

The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

A sample of comments in the U.S. Senate Minority Report:

Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in the history…When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” - UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist.

“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.

“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical.” -  Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology  and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.

“The IPCC has actually become a closed circuit; it doesn’t listen to others. It doesn’t have open minds… I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists,” - Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia at Punjab University and a board member of the UN-supported International Year of the Planet.

I think in future it would be helpfull for the first line in a scientific paper to be a financial disclosure statement. That way readers could do a quick “follow the money” assessment and decide whether or not to keep on reading.

I see from your provided link that people can leave their comments at the paper’s site. It appears that a few FReepers have signed the guest book.

as well as strong political affiliations. For example - gw fanatics continue to claim that NASA insists global warming hysteria is based on solid science, they're actually talking about James Hanson - Al Gore's right hand man in the political game. NASA admin does not agree with Hansen

Al Gore is the American T.D. Lysenko

Lysenko was the fraud scientist the Soviets relied on for many years...Stalin loved him...but the guy was a fraud

Global Warming is nothing but a HOAX

The global warming alarmists will go down in history as the flat earthers of the new millennium. A decade of facts defy their beliefs, yet they plod on like the Cardinals of Galileo’s day. History has rarely seen such ignorance.

There ya go.!!
Scientists for sale. We knew that but hearing it from the 'prostitute' removes all doubt.

Don't worry, since gov't funding will only increase in the coming years, expect some of these "scientists" to be silenced via heavy-handed coercion.

Giving a Nobel Prize to Gore was the act that says the the Nobel Foundation is nothing more than a glorified version of “American Idol” and the awards if gives is for nothing more than political popularity.

I would argue that such ignorance is the norm throughout History...but that means that they will be ridiculed by school children for many centuries to come...rather satisfying, eh?

If you read the bios of the Nobel Peace Prize committee...you’d quickly grasp that these are not the kind of people you’d ever associate with or invite over to your house for a backyard bar-b-q. These are people that travel rarely outside of their native country...would never associate with hunters, farmers or working class people...and have no talents beyond working for state government in some capacity (Note: either politics or university professors). None of the committee members likely know anything about brake jobs, survival skills, or even the basics of weather. If the public ever came to grasp the usefulness of the peace prize committee....their legend would sink as rapidly as the Titanic.

My standard comment to people who complain about how cold it is: "Imagine how much colder it would be if it wasn't for global warming". Can you believe there are people who believe in that junk science?
I remind anyone foolish enough to disagree with me that weather can't be predicted accurately three days in the future. I then ask them how much of their personal income they would be willing to give to a fund to stop global warming.

This is another thing that really, really, REALLY bugs me about the Globular Warming (sic) hysterics.

Actual Scientists, like Dr. Kiminori Itoh & Dr. Ahluwalia who would actually KNOW something about climate and the planet get labeled as 'heritics' and 'deniers'. While the Pro GW crowd brings forth *experts* like TV Weather Babes who have a degree in Broadcasting. Or 'experts' who have MBA's and became 'climate experts' when they went to work for a Left-Wing Think Tank (yep, that IS an oxymoron). Not to mention Al Gore -- aka ManBearPig -- who is soooooooo smart he flunked out of Divinity School.

“A decade of facts”

I think we err when we proclaim these people “ignorant”. They are the “con artists” of our time, seeking to fulfill the con artists tenet of preying on the “ignorance” of the masses. They seek to control the wealth and power. They are evil and must be resisted. We delude ourselves to believe facts matter to them. They seek to be the “fox that guards the chicken house”. Madoffs ponzi scheme is peanuts compared to what these people seek to do. Follow the money.
