There is nothing illegal or, in my opinion, even wrong about pushing the governor not to appoint people who are unelectable. That is part of the job of a party leader hoping to ensure continued electoral success.

Of course, the Democrats have never hesitated to pull the race card when it was unwarranted, so I won't complain if it gets pulled against Reid here.
