Guess who thinks Leon Panetta will be just perfect at CIA?
Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger, Lake's deputy before becoming national security adviser himself, said that Panetta "was part of the decision-making process for every single issue we were dealing with, whether this was in the Oval Office with the president or the Cabinet Room — the Middle East, Kosovo, China. He was a part of a small group of people who advised the president how to proceed on strategy and substance."
Yes, that Sandy Berger.
Former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger was sentenced Thursday to community service and probation and fined $50,000 for illegally removing highly classified documents from the National Archives and intentionally destroying some of them.
Berger must perform 100 hours of community service and pay the fine as well as $6,905 for the administrative costs of his two-year probation, a district court judge ruled.
Well, I feel better about Panetta, don't you?
ROFLOL...... amazing !!!!!
Isn’t Sandy due to get his national security clearance back just in time for the inauguration?
Hmmmmm
We are living in Bizarro World.
Apparently, Mr. Panetta will need a looser pair of pants.
Oh wait I think the Nationa Review Forgot a very KEY point and that is ......that he stole those documents.... During the Investigation into why the government was unprepared to deal with the greatest terrorist attack on American soil in History.....
talk about conspiracy.... and yet he is a free man... and the media says and does nothing about it.
Personally, I do not think Panetta is qualified despite Burger’s endorsement. We all know that Leon’s pant size is too small for real “high-volume” security work.
Sandy was going to provide some documentation for Panetta’s record, but he left it in his other pants.
One more Clintonista on board would be the saturation point of Team 0bama. Even crap can't float with that much additive.
Since Obama is clearly not qualified to be president having no leadership experience (among many other reasons), it makes sense that he would want Panetta, with ZERO intelligence experience, to head the CIA.
Careful. Even some FReepers are accusing us of suffering from Obama derangement syndrome for not being more reasonable about Obama’s picks.
—the Bush administration did as little about it as possible—
I suspect that Panetta will also be covering for the Clintons. Sandy Berger destroyed some documents pertinent to the 9-11 investigation. I suspect that Panetta will be on a similar search and destroy mission.
Add to that a shadow government that operates within the CIA (Valerie Plame et al) who will use their positions to thwart the elected administration if they disagree with the party that happens to win.
I see nothing positive or credible in this nomination.
Reminds me of Louis Freeh and Jamie Gorelick winding up inside of Fannie Mae after botching national security with regards to 9-11.
What’s next, naming Sandy Burgler the director of the National Archives?
That’s some big pants to fill.
Evil is rampant.
