He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer,
nor His mercy from me!
You are the Author and Giver of all life, and You provide for us a new beginning----a fresh start when we come into Your Kingdom through our acceptance of Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Thank You, Father, that we do not need to carry the sins and iniquities of the past with us, for Your Son was sent to bear the complete burden for all humankind. How grateful we are that we can begin anew each day as You promise to forgive us of our sins; for Your Word tells us that as far as the east is from the west, so far have You removed our sins from us, and our sins and iniquities You remember no more. We come before You, the King of all the earth, and we praise Your Mighty Name because Your loving kindness is better than life itself. We bless You and lift up our hands toward Your Holy Throne. Let our mouths be filled with Your praise this and every day as we contemplate Your greatness.
Lord, we seek Your hand upon our President as he finishes his term of office. Grant him new goals for his life---new ways to serve You. We ask You to accept our gratitude for the legacy of integrity that he has left this nation and for the mighty witness he has been of Your love. May his life inspire others to greatness and may he and Laura be abundantly blessed as they begin their new life together in Texas.
Father, we acknowledge that danger and peril continue to surround our country. We have enemies from without and within and sometimes it is hard to determine which are the greater threat to this nation. We ask that our military men and women as well as the brave troops of Israel would stand alert and remain under the umbrella of Your protection. Help us to do all we can to show them our appreciation for their service.
Father, we thank You for the prayers You have answered over the past eight years as we have gathered together in this setting. We have grown in our faith, we have learned from other Believers, and we have been blessed by all You have done. Thank You for Your faithfulness in 2008 and Your amazing grace that You extend to all who call You Lord. In the Name of Jesus Christ, our King. Amen.
