Sanford's struggle to inject responsibility into a reckless government [Mark Sanford]
Charleston City Paper, Charleston, SC ^ | 2009-01-07 | Jack Hunter

It seems the most enduring divide in American politics isn't between left and right, conservative and liberal, or Republican and Democrat, but voters who want real change and politicians who refuse to give it to them.

Mark Sanford is not that politician. As a South Carolina congressman and now governor, Sanford has had one primary guiding principle his entire political career — limited government. Not just limited government rhetoric, the sort of lip service paid by milquetoast Republicans to pacify their right-leaning base, but genuine, strict, fiscal conservatism. More importantly, Sanford has the guts to back it up.

If you ever need a good illustration of just how duplicitous the GOP can be, just take notice of how frequently S.C. Republicans get angry at Sanford for daring to actually represent the limited government principles they pretend to. It's as if they're saying, "C'mon Mark, you didn't really think we meant all that conservative stuff, did ya?" Luckily, Sanford does mean it, which to some makes him dangerous.

Did you know that Gov. Mark Sanford attended the Bilderberg meeting last year, and is a member of the CFR?

Gov. Sanford's recent refusal to request a federal loan to extend unemployment benefits made national headlines and received heavy criticism from the Employment Security Commission, many state politicians, and others.

Sanford had delayed his request for a federal loan until the ESC agreed to a request by the governor — to allow a third-party audit be conducted in order to highlight waste and inefficiency and to reform the agency. When Sanford finally filed for the federal loan at the last minute, the ESC had still not agreed to an audit.

Well, Sanford flushed any credibility he may have once had right down the toilet.
Nobody will ever again take his threats seriously.
What a shame. I like the guy, but... I dunno...

The problem is that all of the people moving to TX and SC are libs from the NE. They jump over the Berlin Wall to escape liberalism and than vote for the same lib jackasses they did back home.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I’m OK. I’m a conservative. I’m moving there for the right reasons.

Texas is great. That’s where I got my tagline when I was there for a Cowboy game. Saw it on a bumper sticker.

So true. I moved to SC from California 11 years ago mostly because I couldn’t stand the politics in San Fran. Now with all the folks here from Jersey/NY/ect they’re trying to wreck the place. Voting for higher taxes! The local politician even talk openly about getting previously defeated taxes passed now because of the changing voters. Ugh. At least our Gov. and Sen Demint seem to be real conservatives. Unlike Miss Lindsey....

It's worse here in Virginia. Far worse.

Sanford Hops on Global Warming’s Bandwagon
Gov. Mark Sanford

Mark Sanford, one of the most conservative governors in America, has apparently jumped on the global warming alarmist bandwagon. Just the other week, he accepted and now appears to be embracing some of his Climate, Energy and Commerce Advisory Committee’s (CECAC) initiatives that could cost this state $1.6 billion by the year 2020.

I was born in South Carolina in 1944, I liked it better back when people from up North looked down their noses at the state and wouldn’t be caught dead moving here. The whole seacoast is turning into New NewYorkJersey.

I would love to live somewhere where people still say, “I ain’t never seen nairn o’ them before”. They didn’t use proper language but they lived in the real world, Obama would not have fooled them and they possessed the skills needed to survive in the third world economy that is being prepared for us.

LOL ;-)

Unfortunately what I wrote is true, and Mark Sanford is not as Conservative as he would like all of us to believe, as he has now climbed onto the Global Warming bandwagon.

So far Gov. Sarah Palin is looking the most Conservative of all the govs.

Sanford fell for the “global warming” hoax?
Good grief... That’s inexcusable.
