Obama Is Reported Set to Revise Counterterrorism Efforts
New York Times ^ | Jan. 7, 2009 | Peter Baker

Posted on 01/10/2009 10:53:13 AM PST by FocusNexus

The plan being discussed would eliminate the independent homeland security adviser’s office and assign those duties to the National Security Council to streamline sometimes overlapping functions. A deputy national security adviser would be charged with overseeing the effort to guard against terrorism and to respond to natural disasters.

Mr. Bush's aides, including the national security adviser, Stephen J. Hadley, have privately urged Mr. Obama's advisers not to get rid of the separate homeland security office, warning that it would load too many responsibilities on the National Security Council and risk important matters' falling through the cracks.

Not only Christians, Jews as well as those of us on this site will be subjects of their attempts at investigations.

I agree and I keep telling my doubting husband that within about 3 years this guy, before election time, will try to pull a Chavez stunt and declare himself President for Life.

There are a whole bunch of very evil people who are applauding nObama’s moves.

They will visit us soon. And bring presents.

And they will have nothing to fear about their intentions being found out by the CIA...

Dismantling the CIA - e Appointment At a Time

http://www.onenewsnow.com/Blog/Default.aspx?id=379368

“As if the appointment of Eric Holder to the position of Attorney General was not enough, President-Elect Obama has made yet another bold move to further threaten our national security. The appointment of Leon Panetta to the directorship of the CIA should come as no surprise to anyone as it is clear the he has exactly zero intelligence experience to speak of. Panetta’s beltway track record can leave us all confident of one thing: he will do his absolute best to dismantle the CIA as its Director.”

Obama’s Vision: Only Government Can End Economic Woes

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2162368/posts

“Republican Ronald Reagan once quipped that the most “terrifying words” in the English language were: “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.” Democrat Bill Clinton proclaimed in a State of the Union speech 13 years ago that “the era of big government is over.”

But in an address Thursday, President-elect Barack Obama said that government is the solution.

Reagan famously said government is not the solution, it’s the problem,” Lichtman said. “Obama is saying government is the solution and, in fact, the only real solution to the crisis we’re experiencing today. It’s not just a matter of fixing the economy. It’s a matter of fundamentally moving the economy in a new direction. And government, not private enterprise, has to take the lead.”

Are you still optimistic about the Obama presidency? It seems your vision as described in your sig line and Obama’s vision are in direct conflict.

The downfall of this country is bigger than Obama or Clinton or the rats. Our biggest problem is the media. They drive events and report lies. No one stops it and it just gets worse.

I think CBS/NBC/CNN/NYT and their like went too far this time. I hope and pray that's true. They alienated too many people by abandoning any pretense of objectivity. I can't wait to see large parts of the old media suffer a quick and well-deserved death.

Wait a short while and Obama will pretend there is no terrorism. An excuse to shift all that money spent on defense into social programs to make even more people dependent. Terrorists will be renamed liberation fighters as the left always does. The only terrorists in their view are people who want to start businesses and live independent lives.

Are you still optimistic about the Obama presidency?

I never said I was "optimistic" - just hoping for the best. I just don't understand people who get off on the anticipation of suffering of others to make a point.

I looked back at your other posts to others and you are clearly an Obama apologist or so detached from reality that you are continuing to ignore it.

You have a tagline “Government is not the solution to our problems. Government is the problem”.

Then when I point you to an article, where Obama clearly states he thinks the government is the solution, you still don’t criticize Obama, you are “hoping for the best” and accuse me of “getting off on the anticipation of suffering of others”.

This is not a normal behavior, but be happy in your delusions and worship of “The One”.

This will probably be my last post to you on this because you seem to be cognitively challenged. Here goes an longer than necessary attempt to explain a simple concept.

Then when I point you to an article, where Obama clearly states he thinks the government is the solution, you still don’t criticize Obama, you are “hoping for the best” and accuse me of “getting off on the anticipation of suffering of others”.

I hate pointing out that he hasn't been sworn in yet so we absolutely no certain idea what he's going to do in office. Failure to criticize isn't support of a position and for the record I don't support those viewpoints. I didn't bother to respond because it was beside the point that not everything he may do is necessarily bad and I hope that he'll make some good choices like I'd think decent people would hope for too. Whether or not he actually does is another matter. I'm not hoping that the country fails under his watch, if you can grasp that concept. The basic point is that he's going to run the government for 4 years and I do hope, for the country's sake, that he makes good decisions.

To make the point even more clear, if in office, he supports free-market laissez-faire principles, I'm going to support him in that because it's in the best interests of the country to do so. If he doesn't I'll oppose them. I would hope that once in office he tends more in the free-market direction than towards the left but I'm not salivating over the ruin of the nation if he gives in to his worst impulses either.

"Every Post you make, every conversation you have with family, friends, co-workers you should be reminding them of Obama’s stupid, immature, dangerous, shortsighted choices he has made. "
I'll second that gal.
