Oh come on, you’re much too harsh. Not paying their fair share of taxes—if they can get away with it—is de rigeur for the political elite. In other words they are entitled.
All of the people I mentioned have held real jobs. They’ve all had to pay taxes and feed their families without relying on government handouts or income from taxpayers. However, they also have a lot of political experience.
Culture of corruption.
Right now there is NO ONE we trust in government...certainly not this guy - but it also reflects heavily on the guy who nominated him.
Baloney.
All three of those people were Lawyers (Ivy League Lawyers, BTW) before they became politicians. Even though I am an Attorney, I do not consider being an Attorney to be a "real job."
A real job is where you get up at 5 AM and bust your butt working up a sweat and at the end of the day you have accomplished something more than just squeezing money from the "little people" who have busted their butts all day to feed their families and pay their taxes to support the likes of those guys you mentioned.
I doubt if any of them ever built a doorframe or washed dishes or painted a house or stocked a shelf or dug a ditch. I'm betting they all got through college on full scholarships and started earning 6 figures from the moment they got out of college.
That’s only two years...the other three he gets to skate.
"You'd better BELIEVE we are the most ethical Congress in history..."
Anyone remember the lengthy "background survey" that Obamessiah demanded of his staff?
"It's time to be patriotic... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut." Joe Biden, 2008 campaign quote
PAY YOUR TAXES!!! (or else you'll be audited...)
I know several lawyers, and all of them think that they have real jobs.
Treasury Department Can Help Fight Global Warming, Says Paulson
As an attorney I can attest to the fact that Lawyers do not produce anything. Being an attorney is not a "real job." It is a profession where you are either in the business of taking money from your opponent and giving some of it to your client, or where you try to keep the other attorney from taking your client's money and instead YOU take it.
If a lawyer actually produces something it is called a "Law". We have too many of them as it is. We certainly don't need lawyers running the Treasury Department. We need plumbers. We need someone with exprerience in plugging up leaks.
that’s what Al Franken would say.
That's because they all cheat on their taxes too.
Crooks.
Here’s another good one. The man who raped Juanita Broaddrick signed into law the VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT.
Let's should build a new prison in Illinois for the Friends of Obama. It is going to be crowded.
Ha! Holy crap.
Does this mean I can skip my 4Q tax filings until I am nominated to the Cabinet? Money is a bit tight and I could use a “hiccup”...
they nailed him for two years of non-reporting, and he paid these a while back. It wasn’t until Nov 08 (Cabinet position looming) that he “remembered” to take care of the other years with the exact same problem...
