KC Star chosen as it has at least one alleged fact closer to the truth. Most media mis-report $34,000 rather than $43,200. Nobody mentions this excludes penalties which the Treasury Secretary will be able to waive for himself.

Sen. Hatch stated he has "no problem" with Geithner, in spite of the incredible revelations.

The House of Lords not only cover for each other in a bipartisan way, but Their Lordships now go out of their ways to cover for appointment nominees not even yet approved for their posts.

I continue to live in the Twilight Zone with no exit.

Help!

This is an absolute outrage. Every tax paying American should be infuriated.

No problem here!! After all he’s endorsed by Hussein Obama and the rest of the RATS. The Congressional Tax committeee is headed by Charley Rangel and he doesn’t pay taxes either. After all the bureaucrats with their endorsement of MSM are above the rest of us slobs who pay diligently every year.

He paid half of what he owed and was forgiven for the rest.

Only now has he paid the rest of his debt.

That debt was owed to us, the American taxpayer and I am not amused.

Just an innocent oversight. No problem.

I am surprised this guy actually paid any taxes at all. He will really need to get himself some type of trust set up for future avoidance. I would like to know what kind of set up Raham the protector of Bama, figured out to exempt himself from taxation.

Didn’t one of King William’s early nominees (a woman, the name escapes me at the moment) get torpedoed for exactly the same thing?

I have to hand it to Hussein. He had a pretty low bar to jump when it came to finding a new treasury secretary, and he managed to screw that one up. At least Hank Paulson paid his taxes.

I propose that all Americans “Forget” to pay their taxes for the next 4 years.

Every major newsrag in this country should have had an editorial this morning calling for the withdrawal of this tax evader.

But there are none, and probably won't be any because we are trapped in the Twilight Zone where the rays of light are blocked out by the Princes of Darkness (the corrupt, amoral Media and Political elites).

How many here who are rightfully outraged have taken a moment to contact their Democrat or Republican senators (who do the confirming)?

Put your mouths where your typing is.....flood these equally corrupt bastados with protesting e-mails.

Consider this a freep. This is what we're here for.

If not us, who?

Timothy Geithner has set an example we should all strive to follow. And when we are called on the carpet, we can subpoena him to our trials.

I'm hoping his nomination is unanimously approved.

Timothy Geithner a new hero to all tax evaders.

This is an announcement by the IRS regarding the issue, dated February 13, 2007.

Taxes

From what I can gather, apparently W-2's, rather than 1099's, were issued to certain government independent contractors although no FICA taxes had been withheld.

I can't imagine a scenario where an accountant who reviewed this guy's taxes (which he apparently prepared himself) could miss this.

Fox News had a report on this yesterday and said that the IMF had notified people of this issue, but apparently the latest Obama oligarch ignored it.

It used to be that having an illegal alien housekeeper was enought to kill an appointment.

Now, not only can a Democrat have an illegal alien housekeeper, he doesn’t have to pay his income taxes and he will still be appointed.

“These errors were not intentional; they were honest mistakes,” Baucus said after he and other committee members met Tuesday with Geithner behind closed doors.

This is the first case I have seen where a guy who works for the government (not a particularly high paying job) makes an "honest" mistake of failing to pay taxes that are the functional equivalent of the entire income tax burden of a guy making about $80,000 a year over a period of 4 years.

Honest mistake?

Tell that to the jury.

Oh wait, "I forgot" he's a democrat. That's an "honest mistake". There won't even be an indictment.

With all the crooks in Congress, I'm guessing his nomination will be approved unanimously.
