here’s the environmetalist view on efforts to reduce plane-bird collisions at JFK:

NBC reporting it hit a flock of geese...they tried to land in Teterboro NJ but had to rely on the river instead

Illegal alien Canadians?

As usual most talking heads don’t know what they are talking about...

No doubt. I flipped on FOX at a couple of minute to 12 and it was reported as a Boing 737. Cavuto came on and it was an Airbus all of the sudden. All in the span of about two minutes....go figure

“there seems to be literally ZILLIONS of “resident geese” in that section of the country. They apparently no longer migrate and can be seen inhabiting many acres of rolling corporate parks alongside highways.”

Some cold weather comes along & big flocks head south a little farther.

At least it wasn’t a flock of seagulls...

And they foul everything up with their poop.

How soon can they yank that plane out of the drink, blow dry it, and get it back in service?

They're going to have to issue a "salvage" certificate on it now that it has water damage, find a pilot that wants to fly it, and offer discounted flights to get passengers to fly on it! Yeah, yeah... That's the ticket!

Cavuto came on ...

FOX News contributing aeronautical engineer Neal Cavuto is now upping the ante by continually suggesting more horrific scenarios.

This was THE best place to go down, if a plane had to go down. Just a huge concentration of rescue equipment personnel very, very close by, and basically on permanent red alert due to the terrorism threat. AP reporting all aboard survived.

I second the icing theory. The lag between de-icing and takeoff has made me nervous in the past.

It actually doesn’t take much more than frost to cause trouble.

There was no precipitation going on in the NYC area at that time, so no wing icing.
