EVERETT -- The Everett-based leader of a group that she says patrols the nation's borders looking for drug smugglers and illegal immigrants was in an Everett hospital this morning being treated for an apparent gunshot wound in the arm.

There have just been too many cases like this over the past few years, and they need to be carefully looked at.

Seems to me that the “blogosphere backlash” ISN’T coming from the opposition: pro-illegal alien/pro-immigration sites, but rather from certain conservatives/conservative sites who, perhaps, for whatever reason, have some longstanding opposition to certain Minutemen groups, it’s leadership, and/or Shawna personally.

Much of the backlash is coming from patriotic Americans who are active members of reputable Minuteman groups.
The real Minutemen devote much of their time, money & resources into legally assisting U.S. Border patrol in their efforts to curtail illegal immigration which is tearing apart the fabric of our nation and bankrupting our states & municipalities.
Ms. Forde was terminated from Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in February of 2007 for cause.
These people are not vigilantes or racists and they do not pursue Mexican drug cartels.
To do so would require a “death wish”. Members of drug gangs are very good marksmen and use automatic weapons!
Ms. Forde’s problems seem to run much deeper than any illegal activities taking place at our borders.

Thanks. I don’t know Shawna, but I’m inclined (no matter who she is, what group she belongs to, or what she’s done in the past) to take her seriously until there is absolute proof otherwise. But it sounds like folks who know of her don’t or won’t.

If it doesn’t turn out she shot herself, I’m sure she will have been shot because she did something to deserved it. /s off. (or something logic to that effect.)

In all seriousness, this is EXACTLY the reason I hesitate to get involved in ANY organized groups. The infighting I read and hear about disgusts me and is a waste of valuable time. The illegal immigration crisis is FAR too important to be divided and distracted by leadership who seem to be competing over who’s more Patriotic, who deserves the limelight and who has had the bigger b*lls in the game. It’s amazing we get anything accomplished.

You will not read that in the major press. BUT if she had shot someone that was an illegal Mexican, it would be in banner headlines.

You know you get the conditions you deserve. I hope those that hide these things have a reason to regret it at some point
