Obama Naysayers Speak Out
politico.com ^ | January 19, 2009 | Daniel Libit

With Barack Obama's approval ratings in the 70s and his visage plastered on every shop window and Metro card in Washington, it's hard to remember that 58 million Americans voted for the other guy.

Even President Bush — who presumably counts himself among that group — said last week that Obama's inauguration is "a moment of hope and pride."

That's not exactly how Michelle Malkin describes it.

"Jan. 20 has turned into a schlock inauguration, (where) every last moocher has come to cash in on Obama," says the conservative blogger and pundit. "There are some of us who want to bang our heads against the wall."

While most Republicans now in office are saying all the right things about Tuesday's proceedings — roll tape on "peaceful transfer of power" and "historic moment for the country" sound bites — some conservatives can't quite get themselves in the "We Are One" mood.

Not even for a day.

Why just stop at tomorrow? I want to wear black like Johnny Cash, until we get our country back.

Fox keeps putting up that clip of Juan McAmnesty and Barry Soetero and insinuating that Soetero has won over the GOP.

Juan and the RINO’s are all that is left of the GOP. This might be true.

TRUTH beats (or, SHOULD, at least) political correctness ANY day.

I'm proud to say I'm a "naysayer" in this instance.

Think I'll go to the pistol/rifle range today and tomorrow.

I guess that’s just short of “domestic terrorist”.

In the next four years, I see a lot more domestic groups being painted as more dangerous than Islamic terrorists and worthy of the full force of the federal government.

You know, like Crisis Pregnancy Centers, Evangelical Christians, capitalists, gun owners, property owners - you get the idea.

Hey look! They even quoted a FReeper! Accurately, no less. :-)

Tom Hoefling, the chairman of America's Independent Party, has had it with all the talk about the "historic" nature of Obama's inauguration.

"What's historic about it?" he asked. "So it's historical because of his skin tone? Isn't that a racist idea in the first place? ... I could care less what color his skin tone is. What matters is his philosophy -- his political philosophy and his ideology."

"I have a feeling the 58 million people who voted for the (R) ticket will be having a field day soon. He is NOT my president, and I will buy a bumper sticker with that on it and keep it in my office for all to see. I already mute my radio whenever I hear his voice."

You are not alone.

What galls me is Bush won in 2204 with 51% of the popular vote and "the country was divided".

Obambi wins with 52% - only 1.5 million more votes than Bush - and the country is united and he has a mandate.

If an alien came here from space and watched 15 minutes of any media source, they would think Obama was loved and adored by every man, woman and child in the world.

Yep. And I got an email Friday asking for my support to Arlen Specter. No effing way. In the mood I’m in, I may have to answer that one personally. I’ll give him and the other RINO’s as much attention as I received when I asked for help. ZERO

Obama is Jimmy Carter II.

Approval ratings are not at 70%.

Not. Even. Close.

By the way, it’s already been insinuated on liberal blogs that I’m a racist because I simply asked the question about why Obama’s coronation is “historic.”

LOL...

Your last sentence is why I predict that Mike Duncan continues as RNC Chair. I want Ken Blackwell to actually become the next RNC Chair, but there are probably too many RINO’s among all of the voting members of the RNC for this to actually happen. I seriously do hope that I’m wrong about this, and Ken Blackwell does become the next RNC Chair.

"DeLay said he understands why Republicans in Congress aren't complaining about this publicly: "Those in elected office are looking at Obama's popularity numbers and don't want to be perceived as anti-American by being anti-Obama.""

The Republicans in Congress are mostly candyasses who have lost their will to fight. A long, long time ago.

“With Barack Obama’s approval ratings in the 70s....”

Can someone name me ONE THING the so-called "President Elect" has done to EARN an approval rating in the first place, much less one that's 70%??

Some people in this country sure are stupid, no wonder we're sinking to third-world status so quickly.....
