This could be like “The Twilight Zone.” Lincoln’s Bible refused to cooperate with The One.

I just want to add... can you imagine the lamp-throwing and purple rages if this had happened to someone like Bill Clinton? At least Obama seems good-natured about it. I imagine if Bill’s “big day” in 1993 had been messed with like this, he would have been bashing Roberts and stamping his feet like a kid having a tantrum. In fact, he probably would have had a breakdown at the podium.

Obama's stumble made my day yesterday, and the Kos-type trolls' desperate attempts to rewrite the event made my day today. They wince. They cringe. They remember how they went stark raving whenever Bush's words didn't flow. Or they'd edit him so he'd sound stupid.

They were the ones who made such a deal out of the need to always speak perfectly. If you stumble over a word, that makes you a moron. Obama stumbled, big time. Big time moron.

Picky, sure, but since Obamas flubbing of the oath is only being blamed on Roberts by the MSM and DUmmies, I thought actually listening to it and deciding for ourselves might be a better idea.

Yup. There's a lot of so called conservatives that are taking the side of the libs on this and blaming Roberts for the whole fiasco. Obama SHOULD have done the correct oath no matter what Roberts said and it wouldn't be an issue.

It doesn’t matter if he retakes it or not ... he won’t honor it.

Look, you know the oaf of office is a living breathing oath document that is meant to be interpreted. 0 is more concerned with Prez Abbas than out of work union thugs who voted for him. The re-oaf in the map room was 0’s pledge of allegiance to Bill, Hitlery, George Soros and Hamas......pretty simple...his right hand was placed on a 1000 page stack of CDO’s gone belly up while his was raised left hand was picking boogers.

Did Justice Roberts prompt 0bama at the end with "So help you God?" as he did before?

And did 0bama say it?

re: I must admit to taking a bit of perverse pleasure in knowing the “real” oath was administered in a room with a very small crowd.)))

Not remotely perverse. Messiahs are supposed to get their sermons right. 38M people were watching in the US on TV. Reagan got 41M. And Reagan managed not to trip over his words.

Wonder why? You know the WH Internet War Room is up and running. They'd be smart to invest in some trolls on FR.

Should we hold our breath to see if Leno, Conan and SNL pick it up and go with it?

Obama good natured? Obama interrupted Roberts FIRST, which threw the whole thing off. He should be apologizes to Roberts.

I think Obama’s mistake was of a different magnitude from Roberts’. Roberts paused slightly after “I, Barack Hussein Obama...” causing Obama to start to repeat it. And, if he had watched Bush’s last Inauguration in preparation, there was a pause then and Bush said “I, George Walker Bush...” before “do solemnly swear” was administered.

Roberts’ mistake was bigger. He mangled the next phrase (put “faithfully” at the end; substituted “to” for “of” in front of “the United States”). That’s where the real problem started.

Why is this part of the constitution SOOOOOO important for them to get absolutely verbatim perfect,,yet the other parts can mean anything whatsoever??

You can grab my guns,, confiscate my money if i carry too much cash,,,, stop free speech during elections,,, try me as many times as it takes to convict me,,, make all kinds of laws about my religion,,,, enslave my child through “volunteer” service,,,,search me almost any time, for any reason,,, run a guy born in Kenya,,,,etc etc,,

All of this,,, but they are suddenly strict constructionist on the Oath? I don’t get it.
