Glorification of Obama led even acolyte Paul Krugman to observe during the Democratic primary that his campaign appeared dangerously close to becoming a cult of personality. Will this same cultishness continue to envelop the Obama presidency? Perhaps not, as the new president is forced to make Solomonic decisions that perforce offend one constituency or another, and if cracks begin to emerge in the mainstream medias worshipful bias in his favor.
But it is also possible that this personality cult may endure and fructify, especially if the news media continue to suspend critical analysis of Obamas long-held views and programs. Also, one can ask whether he will choose to use, to cultish ends, the new, well-funded organization, Organizing for America, which he has fashioned from his vast grass-roots political machinery, and which is described in the Los Angeles Times as an unprecedented standing political army that will await orders from a president....

That is how far we have fallen in socialist Canada, the minions have been so re-educated that they are basically mindless drones now, it's like Invasion of the body snatchers up here, or 'Dawn of the Living Dead Leftards' Zombies, the lot of them.
Baaaa Baaaa Baaaaa ...you know, the sheep sound.
An apt description for a bunch of drones. And they are a reflection of Obama and he of them.
Never happen. Ever. The MSM is in Obama's pocket for the long haul.
The medias will not criticize him. There are none so blind as those that will not see.
Bill Clinton stayed their “darling” and still is IE
Reason has nothing to do with it. We see that illustrated daily.
“An apt description for a bunch of drones.”
Sounds like a scene from the Fritz Lang film Metropolis.
And the narcissist loves it.
You mean George what's his name? Pshaaw. What does some dead white slaveholder have on our Enlightened Leader? Why, we should just go ahead and remove any reference of that other guy from our history books. We don't even need to know about him anymore. Now that we have.... The One. Okay, yeah, sarcasm on my part. But that's pretty close to how the moonbats actually think, wouldn't you say? This is a good essay, but the author doesn't seem to understand that the Cult is already well past the early stages.
A Cult of Personality is only viable if there is no dissent AND if there is no “bad news.” The voices of those who say “The Emperor has no clothes” must be silenced. Every dictator remains in power this way. But as a corollary, the Fearless Leader can’t be allowed to look bad, and cannot be tied to bad news.
The msm already fawns over 0bama, and I expect they will continue to do so. However, the question is whether the msm will report bad news. If we start getting wonderful puff pieces about how our world is all better now, and there is no factual reporting of economic problems in the USA, then yes, we will have our full-blown cult. Hanging the bad news around Bush’s neck is risky; people might not accept it in 2011. It’s better to pretend there is no bad news.
I have never seen the like ... not for GWB, not for Bill the Impeached, not for GHWB, not for Jeemah Cahtuh ...
Here's an idea for the next gift-giving occasion -- send them gift baskets — of packets of Kool Aid (a nice variety — think of a fruit basket).
That would go over their heads completely, you need to meet lefty Torontonians in order to see the pinnacle of leftard density.
So, we have our own Kim Jong-Il. How does his Majesty Comrade Obama actually prefered to be called? Great Leader? Dear Leader? Fearless Leader? Chairman? Fuhrer? Rabbi? Messiah?
Groveling toadies want to know.
If the media guching over the guy never ceases, and I don't think that it will, then people probably will accept it in 2011. Look at how long they blamed Hoover for every ill.
Truly, a picture is worth 1000 words.
I've not seen "Metropolis," but after doing a search and reading the brief description, it occurs to me that we may almost be there. Now that you've piqued my interest, I'll have to order a copy. I see that it has been "recreated" with its original music score.
Interesting, isn't it, the things that many societies do to destroy themselves?
Amazon.com has many of the older Fritz Lang movies he made in Germany, 1920s - 1930s. including Metropolis.
Everyone is in mass and lock step.
Lang’s “M” is great also some of the Dr. Mabus’s
