many dont have gang affiliations prior to prison but join for protection and company. USP Leavenworth had about 30 gangs and groups ethnic, regional, cultural all for the same reason as people in the real world. also criminal and social gangs like veterans groups and crips and bloods or D.C. an L.A. also sub groups like neuastra familia and MS 13 or aryan brotherhood and georgia boys even mafia type italians or nation of Islam and Asatru

Solitude is IMO good for all of us at times.

I call it my decompression mode.
Give one time to earnestly Pray and reflect then rejuvenate for what living in the world brings on next.

I dont remember reading in the Bible that Jesus was harmed by his time out in the desert alone. : )

When Gotti was doing his time he had to pay some big buck to the Aryan Nation to be his bodyguards.

IIRC he cut back on that funding and found himself in a bit of a corner so he bumped back up his funding to stay healthy/safe.

he is deserving of a safe environment inside the prison. That is not the case in any of our prisons today IMO. If I were to go in, I would want my own space and to be left alone to do my time.

Do I ever agree with you! Our governments are not using official captial punishment but instead are using jail-justice as captial punishment and torture.
Horrible.
Execute the ones who need killing and provide honest prison time for those who dont.

Avoid prison in the first place.

Easier said than done now that the US government has beocme a law-sink where bureaucracies can imprison people.

I worked with a group of men once who had substance abuse related offenses.

One was out of state when the offense occurred. He was aressted and gang raped in jail until his parents were able to come down and bail him out. Got Hep C out of it.

It is no longer our father’s lccal jail. I would no more leave a child of mine in jail overnight or even for a few hours (to teach them a lesson) than I would cut off my arm. After watching some recent runins that people have had with the law, I have realized that the law is no longer just. That manatory sentencing and mandatory processing though on DV crimes has turned what was common sense into dangerous nonsense.

What bothers me is the prison gangs. If you go in you’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. It’s violent, dangerous, and very corrupting.

As for those who are sitting on death row, it’s my understanding they don’t get to mingle with the population. However, you and I agree that they should be executed in a timely manner.

In California we have something like 600 (recalling an old number I had seen), on death row. Why are we still having to pay for their upkeep? They should be executed.

I understand what you mean, but I still think you have to do something rather significant to make it all the way to prison. A local county jail is more likely for most people.

Not with the three times your out rules. And the county lockups can be terrible.

Not sure if this incident is what did the trick but David is different.

Couple of things,
Beautiful wedding and family sir.
Where did you have the wedding in Savannah?
Love the city and go every chance I can think of.
I feel like a mule I walk the Squares so much.

Thanks for your kind words.

The wedding was at Trinity United Methodist Church and the reception was in the gardens at Ships of the Sea Museum.

Savannah became our daughter’s favorite city when she was in college in Statesboro, GA. She had moved to NYC after college, met her future husband there, and when they decided to get married they came to Savannah to look at sites. She had told us years ago that when she married she wanted it to be in Savannah.

He fell in love with Savannah and they were married there almost two years ago. They now live in Atlanta and are expecting their first baby in August.

He is from NJ but loves the south. She lived in NYC almost 5 years but is glad to be back south too.

Prison emergency response plans usually call for securing the perimeter first to protect the public. Many already have patrols or gun towers in place. When the first few sheriff or state patrol shows up, they are usually used to ensure public safety.

Rare that there are escapes from prison riots that start on the inside, because of the steps I mentioned. Escapes by a group would be planned and usually come early. Not so easy to do as in the past.

Somebody living 30 miles from a prison and hunkering down waiting for inmates is just blowing smoke.

About three years ago my wife and I thought of buying one of the old places in the old part of town.
Checked out a bunch of open houses and found that one in bad shape costs about a million.
Holes between the walls and windows. I inquired about repairs and was told there are so many cultural and preservation type committees to get through it was crazy.
NO paint colors on the place unless available in era. No new type windows, no this no that. I said the heck with it and bought where I am now. Still on 4th of July we get a place on the water with a view of the fireworks and enjoy the Shrimp Factory and walk. Man do we walk a lot and is it ever HOT.
Regards, and congratulations.
