Since its inception in 1953, every new president has attended The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball – until now.
The ball was created for President Dwight Eisenhower's inauguration to honor recipients of the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military award. The event is sponsored by the American Legion and co-sponsored by 13 other veteran's service organizations, including the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
And while 48 of the nation's 99 living recipients of the Medal of Honor attended the event, reports the Cleveland Leader and various self-attested attendees of the ball, newly sworn-in President Barack Obama became the first president in 56 years to skip out on the ceremony.

News of new president's snub of the Heroes ball, however, launched a flurry of comment on the blogosphere, from angry veterans questioning if this is what Obama means by "change" to supporters who have labeled the whole story a hoax, claiming the ball never took place.
The Jackson Sun, however, reports of at least one veteran who attended the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C., and the Blackfive blog reports receiving a press release from the American Legion about the controversy.
According to the blog, the Legion's media relations manager Craig Roberts wrote, "President Obama was invited but did not attend. Vice-President Joe Biden did appear, however, and was very warmly received. The new President's absence was understandable considering the unprecedented logistical challenges presented by the vastly increased number of visitors to this inauguration and the necessary attendant security measures. The American Legion, as an organization, does not feel offended or 'snubbed.'"

Canada Free Press seems to have reprinted the text from the Cleveland Leader for three paragraphs and then linked the Cleveland Leader.
Good thing he didn’t show up...the building would’ve collapsed under the weight of all that hubris and killed some innocent people.
I would find him unwelcome at any US Military function the best part of him dribble down his father’s leg.
Obama's avoidance of this event speaks volumes.
Obambi was way too busy filling up his money bag to bother with those he will carelessly commit to battle.
Biden, on the the hand, hasn't got a clue.
They were fighting for the “old” Soveign America. Not the international socialist one world government of his dreams.
Sure, the Obamanation was too busy to honor veterans and meet 48 Medal of Honor recipients —— see, the Obamanation was too busy with endless suck-up events surrounded by every left-wing interest group, bands of “community organizers” etc.
There’s no doubt, Obambi had 1,000s of things that were more important to HIM than hanging around all those honorable veterans.

Not surprising. Typical of RATS to snub anything related to our military or vets. Just a portent of things to come. Expecting obozocide to start cutting funding to the military in about 1 year.
There will probably be a huge exodus out of our military now as folks take stock of what it means to have Obambi as CinC and the Demagogues in total control.
Watch, the 'Rats will have to try to blame it on "Bush's wars" but what is most demoralizing is seeing Obambi come in to try to make a mess of what you've sacrificed for....
Boots I’m currently working as a double dipping retired USAF SMSgt now simple service Budget Analyst at our local AFB. On inauguration day one of my Squadron’s Senior NCOs dropped his retirement paperwork and several of the younger troops are separating as soon as their current contracts are up. Having served from the Carter years until I left disgusted at the end of the Clinton years (75-00) and I am expecting this trickle to turn into a mass exodus as soon as “don’t ask don’t tell” gets overturned.
The American Legion forgave Obama’s absence due to “unprecedented logistical challenges”..... On the other hand, here’s what the kind bloggers over at the Democratic underground wrote in their comments......
“A row of empty chairs labeled “Joint Chiefs” stood behind President Obama during the Inauguration parade. The pussy generals would pop in one at a time to salute their own troops as they marched by and then they left. I thought it was a REAL shitty performance by our Military leadership.
Furthermore, I am SICK of their incessant demands for hero and warrior worship. I am no sure the mandatory fuss over our soldiers has a positive impact on our society. The military is supposed to be subordinate to civil authority. This is out of whack like so many other things in our country.”

When I retired in 2004 I was thankful it is G W’s signature on my retirement letters. I feel sorry for those poor bastards that will get one with the Obamanations sig block.
I think you’ve said it here. He knows he’s not worthy to look those heroes in the eye.
Those people are insane. What a disgrace. When hell breaks loose in this country, and it will, I will never defend any one of these people. I would kick them out in the street to let them reap what they’ve sown.
