Hey, this was Greenich Village. Does anybody remember the very derogatory pieces of “art” that depicted so many of the icons of the past? A crucifix in a jar of urine, the 43rd President represented as a chimpanzee, the parade of phallic symbols glorifying the “alternative” life styles?
The power to shock is still considered to be one of the glories of being a “counterculture” artist. Sure they damned and mocked Nixon in the 1960’s. Now it is the nascent obama regime’s turn in the barrel.

That said, if it was “drunken [insert Republican here] it would have been lauded throughout NYC as genius.
