reports coming in of major damage from 1-2 inches of ice over the area..its still raining with temps below freezing in many areas.
information is sketchy but major damage to infrastructure are trickling in. Damage to houses from falling trees, multiple power poles down, and widespread power outages
Travel is impossible in many area because of 100's of downed trees blocking the roads.
Fires are reported in some area
widespread state of emergencies issued
Northern AR, SE MO and western KY seems to the the hardest hit so far..but things are icing up fast now in the Louisville/Lexington areas too

NE OK got decent icing 1/4-3/4 inch causing some damage but its way worst a little east

Just checked the IR / precip radar....the icing is extremely wide spread.......a serious SOB of an ice storm....looks to be a few thousand sq miles of serious mess tonight.

It has cleared the center of Oklahoma where I live a short time ago. No classes at OU, schools, and the Governor is asking people to stay off the roads.
Luckily we had a mix of snow and sleet and not freezing rain this afternoon. We have ice under that mix and roads are very slippery. Unlike in Dec 2007, we didn’t have a huge number of power outages and trees/power poles down this time. Last time we had rain before the ice and caused tree limbs to be heavy.
After going through lack of power in Dec 2007, I really feel for these people tonight.
Clearly it’s a racist-motivated plot by Obama. He’s having FEMA intentionally delay their response as an attack on areas where he suspects he did not get support from. (That’s how the libs spun Katrina, right?)
obammers handlers are working with him to instruct him on what to say about that horrible Rush Limbaugh...and how well his Sec. of State is doing....and what he should wear to his next appearance on islamo-muslim TV....

Shoulda' been emergency housing there already, standing by so that when the trees fall on people they just move right in.
And food! Shoulda' been food, and new clothes for everybody.
There's no excuse for this ~ and you just know Obama is already in bed ignoring all the suffering.
There are dead bodies out there and FEMA is no where to be seen.
The weather forecast here keeps changing. We’re expecting 8-12 inches of snow. So much for gore-bull warming.

On a serious note, I went through this here in New England on Dec 11th. A massive ice storm downed thousands of trees and power lines in my area. I lost power for a week but I was one of the lucky ones. Many others didn't get their power back until after Christmas.
Ice storms are no fun. I'd rather have four feet of snow.
Mid afternoon it stretched back to Rosewell NM and into KY. Huge storm.
Western WV here. 6-7 inches of snow this morning, followed by rain and freezing temps this evening. I just looked out at the ice forming on the power line that runs in front of the house. Hopefully we get through without any power outage.
