'I'm So Damn Glad You Could Never Be My Wife'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/28/2009 4:19:19 PM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Talk about the political becoming personal . . .

On this evening's Hardball, Dick Armey told Joan Walsh:

"I'm so damn glad that you could never be my wife, cause I surely wouldn't have to listen to that prattle from you every day."

The former Republican representative from Texas had been wrangling with Salon editor Walsh over the politics of the stimulus package and the role Rush Limbaugh has been playing, when things got out of hand . . . [H/t reader JF.]

Hilarious. It was rude, but funny. Shouldnt be taken so serious. Geez. She was getting her panties in a wad.

Armey’s gotten a lot punchier in his old age. Too bad we couldn’t get that out of him back in the 90’s.

Libbies have no sense of humor unless it’s something totally foul coming from Whoopie Goldberg or some such.

From the picture two posts up, it looks like she was indeed experiencing the first moment of panty-wadding.

It's easy to understand why Armey said that — but, when it comes to the art of the insult, he's no Churchill.

For instance:

Lady Astor: “If you were my husband, I would poison your tea.”

Churchill: “And if I were your husband, I would drink it.”

No man should ever have to be married to her, but maybe Janet Reno or Madeline Albright would do just fine.......

“If you were my husband, I would feed you poison.”

“And if you were my wife, madam, I would take it.”

LOL! Funny then and this is funny now.

It reminds me of the Churchill quote:

‘If I was your wife Sir, I’d poison you! Madam, if you were my wife, I’d let you!’

Your people have stood in his way; they're standing in his way on Capitol Hill right now,

Furthermore, Walsh is just wrong about this. The pubbies didn't stop the RATS during the last two years and Bush pushed the policies of Caligula just not as severely.

There is no way the pubbies can stop anything now. They are not holding up this legislation. The only thing is that the RATS want the pubbies to go along with this so when it fails, and it will, they can spread the blame.

Sorry, I seem to be batting 1000 lately with the typos, and I swear I hit spell check. Evidently not, it didn't go there. I think I will go over in the corner and read for while. How embarrassing.
