It's only just begun, and already NY's UI fund is broke. They are borrowing from the feds a billions day. That's going to add up pretty darn quick, and with Calipornia and other states piling on the fed food wagon, then all the rest when their Ui funds run out, Obama's going to have to write UI bail out checks to the tune of about 800 billion a week before this year is done.

But don't worry, abortions are free.

Ted Kennedy and the Democrats made sure that the minimum wage has been raised 2 times in a year and a half.

Maybe the Democrats should delay the third wage increase which is supposed to take effect in July.

I’d like to know how the numbers are compiled and a figure arrived at.

I work in an industry where the turnover is very high, with people passing through in a matter of days. They don’t really want to work. They show up for one or two scheduled shifts, and are not heard from again-until we receive a claim for unemployment, based on their 2 8-hour days.

I often think of them when I hear how many claims are filed, as I don’t know if the numbers include the serial abusers, or not. If it’s happening in my smaller city, it’s happening in every city, times ten.

2006 unemployment #s
4.7...jan.
4.8...feb.
4.7...march
4.7...april
4.7...may
4.6...june
4.7...july
4.7...aug.
4.5...sep.
4.4...oct.
4.5...nov.
4.4...dec.

data.bls.gov/PDQ/servlet/...

www.icmarc.org/xp/rc/mark...

The 1st quarter of ‘06 saw 4.8% growth in GDP. Then came dim-0s running for control of congress promising “CHANGE.” They won, and after 2 years in power, things HAVE “CHANGED” GDP growth is now -6%. Happy with your “CHANGE?”

My brother naively asked me the other day when will Obama start to get credit or blame for the economy. I explained to him it’s rather simple...he’ll take all of the credit for anything good and blame everything bad on Bush.

The number of jobless claims is very large right now. It’s the largest on record. What people may want to keep in mind, is that the populace has grown significantly since the last time we had even a moderate downturn in the economy. The figure is a record, but it’s size is somewhat population driven.

The workforce is much larger today than it used to be. So when 7% (I don’t know what it actually is right now, but I believe this is close) are unemployed, more people are unemployed than with the smaller workforce years ago.

The percent is the figure that we should keep a watch on, not the specific numbers. And seven percent, while not very good, isn’t an extremely high number.

California has high eights or a low nine percent unemployment right now, and a few other state bump it from the top spot. That’s getting way too high.

The democrats won’t admitt this publicly, but privately there are enjoying these layoffs and unemployment upticks.

The democrats and liberals in general LOVE bad news because it makes them and their useless government programs feel important.

Don’t forget that the workforce has increased by 50% since 26 years ago when the last “record” unemployment numbers at this level were announced.

Lying with statistics...
