North Korea, trying to jolt Obama, warns South (Lil' Kim Making Big Threats)

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Friday it was scrapping all accords with South Korea, a move which the South's prime minister said could be timed to coincide with Barack Obama taking over as U.S. president.

Analysts said the latest rise in tension increased the chances of a military clash on the strongly defended border that has divided the two Koreas for more than half a century.

"There is neither way to improve (relations) nor hope to bring them on track," North Korea's KCNA news agency quoted the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea as saying.

"The confrontation between the north and the south in the political and military fields has been put to such extremes that the inter-Korean relations have reached the brink of a war."

KCNA also criticized South Korean President Lee Myung-bak over the appointment of a new minister in charge of relations on the peninsula, saying he was an architect of the government's "undisguised policy for confrontation with the DPRK (North Korea)."

The North in recent months has repeatedly warned of war on the divided peninsula and threatened to destroy the conservative government in Seoul which has ended a decade of free-flowing aid to Pyongyang after taking office a year ago.

South Korea's president stuck to its policy of largely ignoring the rhetoric flying across one of the world's most heavily armed borders where over a million troops face off.

Hillary should take hug-a-dictator lessons from HalfBright.

After all, she already hugs terrorists, so she doesn’t need much additional training.

This is exactly what Vice President Joe Biden said would happen.

Time for Obama to resign.

It might actually be good for Obambi to realize quickly that all his kindly words have no benefits when dealing with such people..... does he actually think that the Clintonistas failed to suck up enough to N. Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, et al in the ‘90s????

Hillary's State Department leaps into action, calls comments “unhelpful”:

“North Korea's statement that it was scrapping all accords with South Korea is unhelpful, the State Department said on Friday.

“This type of rhetoric is distinctly not helpful but that's not going to deter us from continuing our efforts to achieve (the) denuclearization of the Korean peninsula through the six-party framework,” State Department spokesman Robert Wood told reporters, referring to multilateral talks under which the North in 2005 agreed to give up all its nuclear programs.”

That will show them!

Good grief. The Obama Administration is far more incompetent than I ever feared.

So, what will Premier Saddam Hussein Obama do when the North comes rushing across the border?? Will he support our troops already there? Will he send in the Navy carrier groups to add air support too our troops and the South? What will our Premier do?

While I am not crazy about Obama's presidency, I hope you are kidding about him resigning. That would make Biden president. If Biden resigned, that would make Pelosi president. I think the republic has a better chance of surviving with Obama then those other two.

As you go down the line it gets even worse. "Sheets" Byrd is right after Pelosi. Next in line is a former First Lady whose initials are HRC. Are you really scared yet?

Thanks for posting the article.

So, (as always) it’s about the money.

Good grief. The Obama Administration is far more incompetent than I ever feared.

Oh, pshaw.

I'm not remotely a fan of this administration, but the State Dept. would (and should) say the same thing under any president.

What, precisely, would you have them say?
