SEMA is opposing an effort by some Washington lawmakers to include a national car crushing program in the upcoming economic stimulus package. Vehicles targeted for the scrap pile will likely include Chevy Blazers, Silverados, S-10s and Tahoes; Dodge Dakotas and Rams; Ford Explorers and F-Series; Jeep Cherokees and Wranglers; and any other SUV or truck that obtains less than 18 mpg.
Are these the dumbest people ever? I am sure God, himself. is spinning at their stupidity.
There is nothing better for an economy than to destroy valuable assets.

I’m sure our democrat-communists will appreciate the irony when Americans are still driving their 40 year old Chevy Blazers just as their Cuba revolutionary counterparts are still doing with those 1950’s vintage vehicles today. Ah, hope & change…
I don’t own an SUV, but if this goes through I can see them coming for my sports car in a few years...

To the politicians that supposedly care (and fakely care) about our environment: My old man had a gas guzzling (11 MPG) Pontiac Grad Prix, a 76’ if you guys had put that guy in jail for that back then, at least I’d listen to you, but now, you suck, harder than anything that has ever sucked before, so FU. and so long as Al Gore is alive, FU, and Nacy Belagosie got her fuel hogging jet, FU. And even if you could ‘Punish’ folk for having vehicles like that - I’d like to challange that athourity, when so many politicians seem to think that any law you could pass would be exempt for them, That’s not in the US Constitution!
