Rep. Alcee L. Hastings, D-Fla., has introduced to the House of Representatives a new bill, H.R. 645, calling for the secretary of homeland security to establish no fewer than six national emergency centers for corralling civilians on military installations.
The proposed bill, which has received little mainstream media attention, appears designed to create the type of detention center that those concerned about use of the military in domestic affairs fear could be used as concentration camps for political dissidents, such as occurred in Nazi Germany.
The bill also appears to expand the president's emergency power, much as the executive order signed by President Bush on May 9, 2007, that – as WND reported – gave the president the authority to declare an emergency and take over the direction of all federal, state, local, territorial and tribal governments without even consulting Congress.

You ask a question what the heck are you doing on Free Republic if you didn't like conservative media, and I am wondering the same question, since your only purpose seems to be to attack conservative news sources and then refuse answer any reasons as to why you hate this particular conservative news sources. Or maybe you hate all conservative news sources and you're just here to stir up trouble. Maybe you need to slither back to DU land!!!

I heard that in Indiana they have one of these detention centers, complete with cattle cars. Scary!
We’ve got to get our guns and be prepared to stand for ourselves, if we have a corrupt government trying to imprison us unjustly.
Is it true that Homeland Security doesn’t even know that these camps exist? Jerome Corsi just said that on the radio. If so, who ordered them and who has plans for them?
I’m quite confident that Obama could be a dictator and round up and imprison any dissidents. He is a control freak and very suspect in general. No doubt, he would first go through sites like Freerepublic to search out these non-conformists and once found target them.
Hate to talk this way about our President, but this guy is unbelievable. He is tough on tax-cheats and terrorists, but hard on the law-abiding patriotic American.
NO not even that. Take a good look at his cabinet appointments.
