MINNEAPOLIS David Guy McKay walked out of the federal courthouse, felt the sting of a 4-degree temperature and a wicked northwest wind and declared how great it felt.
McKay, 23, of Austin, had reason to feel elated. He was getting his first taste of freedom an hour after a judge declared a mistrial when the jury deadlocked on charges that he made and possessed Molotov cocktails during last summer's Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn.

He claims entrapment.
All these kinds of things are entrapment, in the ordinary understanding. How about that famous TV show where they entice sex perverts into rendevous’s ? They know just what to say to really crank them on and pull them in. I happened to see a bit just tonight, where the guy was saying, honestly I felt, that he wondered to himself why he was doing it, but it just sounded so perfect, “with the pool and everything”? Well ...
And isn’t there a guy doing LIFE in Michigan for agreeing to some kind of drug deal with an “informant”? They way I remember it, he said, “OK”, then got cold feet and tried to flee. They caught up with him and he got LIFE for saying, “OK”. That’s they way I understood it, at any rate.
So, a case like this where the guy admits to making the Molotov Cocktails is less of an entrapment than many of the standard stings you see, on COPS e.g. I always feel doubtful about these, but if this guy can get off, why don’t they all get off?
Because it was only the GOP convention he was going to firebomb and most of the jurors probably sympathized with him.
If he’d been trying to do this to the Dem convention, he’d already be behind bars for the rest of his life.
For those who don’t read the article, Austin,TX, not Asutin,MN.
Heard that on the radio this AM......he’s not coming back to stand trial....
“most of the jurors probably sympathized with him”
Guarantee it......
“Guilty as hell, free as a bird”.
Scumbag 2.0 (beta).
No $hit.
Looking at his photo, you can see that he also has the advantage of good looks---which if one wants to admit it or not--does affect the way the world sees you--and looking good is certainly an advantage in life.
Austin man posts bail after mistrial in GOP bomb plot case..
...a new saint for the left to worship...
I suspect all of them went to ut. I also wonder if they weren't the firebugs that hit the governor's mansion.
Okay ... now send him back to Austin to see if he had anything to do with the fire at the governor’s mansion.
I am Jack’s Total Lack of Surprise.
He’ll probably get tenured professor status in Madistan.
