Palin on the Stimulus: 'I Agree With the Decision to Vote NO.'
NRO ^ | February 03, 2009 | Jim Geraghty

February 3, 2009, Juneau, Alaska - Governor Sarah Palin again today expressed her serious concerns with President Obama’s proposed stimulus package. In a joint letter sent to Alaska’s congressional delegation, Governor Palin, House Speaker Mike Chenault and Senate President Gary Stevens cautioned that unrestrained spending, initiation of new programs that the states may be asked to continue after the federal stimulus is gone, and the borrowing of hundreds of billions of dollars to pay for it may result in serious economic problems in the future.

Methinks she and her family are made of pretty sturdy stock.

Indeed they are. I've researched my family tree pretty thoroughly, and found at least eight connections to the Heath family. I believe we are sixth cousins, Sarah and I, and seventh and eighth and ninth cousins several times over.

We both come from the very earliest New England settlers. These are the people who were among the most stubborn and independent and adventuresome of all Englishmen. They came here in the early 1600's and built a shining city on a hill in New England.

Over the subsequent four centuries, the most stubborn and independent and adventuresome of their posterity struck out West to live their lives as they saw fit, bowing to God and no man, each generation escaping the moochers and flatterers and petty tyrants who followed in their train but had not the same moral fiber. My people, and Sarah's people, won this country, blazed its trails, and built it up for others less worthy.

At each generation, this winnowing process continued. From Massachusetts, to Connecticut, to New York, to Ohio, to Arizona and Idaho and Alaska, my ancestors and Sarah's turned their backs on the voluptuaries of encroaching government and unearned privilege.

Their descendants, like me, like Sarah Heath Palin, are now children of the Far West. We are the most stubborn and independent and adventuresome among many generations. We are the residue of those who first escaped from stifling, unfree Europe and made this country what it is. We are the scions and remnants of the New Jerusalem.

We've run out of frontier, and now we stand with our backs against the wall against the encroachment of Old Europe and its ant-hill ideologies. Sarah has chosen to fight, and I am right beside her. Here we stand; we can do no other.

Which means she will be at an enormous disadvantage. I know how much people love her, but she’s got a steep climb ahead of her, even if SHE wants to run again, and who knows. She may not want to put her family through it again. I wouldn’t.

If she runs (I hope she does and her God fearing family probably sees it as a high moral mission) then when it comes to interviews Sarah needs to insist that she has hew own camera crew filming for "quality assurance" (as the standard canned message used when calling a customer service line) or demand a Sunday morning show format of no editing. The media will howl but I believe that come 2010 and beyond the media scene is going to be a little different as the internet spawns new "networks" that will get the interview because they will be actually practicing journalism.

GO SARAH GO!

Again, despite the efforts of the MSM, the DNC, and the RINOs Sarah articulates clear, conservative messages on critical issues of the day. In doing so, she comes out all the better, more respected, and well positioned to help us take back our country as a result.

Onward to the beachhead in 2010 and victory in 2012!

"“Destroy from within” its what they are doing attempting to do to Rush Limbaugh, and its what they will continue to attempt to do to Sarah Palin,"

Key word...attempt. Doesn't make them successful, because of your last statement "and we cannot allow them to get away with it."

Why? Can’t you argue with them?

Liberals, trolls, and intellectual nitwits need to be purged - not conservatives who have a different POV (probably doesn’t include the Rooty Raiders but others might disagree).

Move aside “Maverick for Change”, Palin 2012.

McCain’za joke.

If we keep fishin from the same ol pond, were gonna keep catchin the same ol big mouth bass.

A conservative like Palin would garner my support as long as she did not begin bending to the powers in Washington.

We need strong, true “CONSERVATIVE” leaders, not compassionate conservatives, rhino's or moderates.
