No matter how AARP tries to spin it they can’t get past the meaning of it. We aren’t going to take away your social security. We’re just going to take away your health care. Now if you are lucky enough not to need medical care, that’s just fine and dandy. Otherwise, have your funeral plan paid up.

Vet fees are terrible in the U.S.
I live in Panama. I had to take Angel as an emergency Saturday to my very capable vet, the best in Panama and would be of great competition to any other vet anywhere else.
I admit my bills:
Visit: $25.
Two powerful shots (for his asthma which he just developed): $15.
Chest X-ray: $40. (It came out fuzzy so it has to be retaken again...Angel was under too much stress to take another one at that time.)
Two kinds of pills for home: About $5 (but I really don’t remember the full price).
The vet tried lab work, but Angel was not co-operating because he was too stressed out. Stressing out a cat is dangerous. A cat can have a fatal heat attack if stressed out enough.
So Lab work and another X-ray will have to wait for later in the week.
But each lab work will cost $15.
I keep telling folks that living in Panama is a paradise.
I take my scolding back.
Angel continues to send his love.
I wife was devastated. It’s been 15 years and she still can’t talk about it without crying.
My mother has repeatedly told me about how they are doing just that in England....killing off the elderly.

The police do not take crimes against animals as the serious crimes they are. Usually such horrific crimes are precursors to even more despicable crimes against HUMANS. I had a rescue puppy of mine stolen, decapitated and left at more door step; the police thought it was no big deal. And then, another rescue puppy was beaten to death outside my door while I was still at home. I heard yelping, and by the time I got dressed and grabbed my bat to go outside, no one was around, but the limp body of a puppy was at my doorstep. I think I made it easy for the monster because I keep my rescued dogs in individual pens when they first come to my home. Puppies stay in a separate pen for their protection.
At the time; my husband was working out of town during the week and I was home alone most weeknights. I kept my bat by the door and borrowed a shot gun from my dad and stood vigil at my house. The police just said they didn’t know how to investigate...and never even took one picture or anything. I took pictures with my digital camera and put up a deer camera to detect motion.
Two weeks later, a teenager that lived down the street from me murdered an elderly lady with a hatchet. I’d be more than willing to lay my life savings that that monster is who harmed my animals.
I believe it with all my heart FAWN. You’re old? Your sick? Too bad. Just shut up and die.
As an outsider, I can tell you it helped Ford West of the Hudson and North of the Tappan Zee bridge.
Good point....you have to be able to trust the vets and also quality of life is very important. In your yorkies case, his quality of life would be very poor and he would of begged you to put him out of his misery... I hope you gave that clinic a piece of your mind!
My daughter lost her white lab that went through college with her last month.It was as bad as losing a child,really sad.
Market went to the top 2003-2006, with low employment. With two wars.
Then the dems took over.
No problem. My dogs, Suzy and Buddy, send love back. As does my cat, Meow say tongue.
The emergency of course is that if people start reading it no one will vote for it.

Despite a great economy, the country insisted on cutting off its nose to spite its face by electing Democrats. Much of the responsibility falls on the shoulders of those Levin calls “Re-Pube-icans.”
There are some sick ,mean people out there. I glad you have that shot gun.
They will take your money at age 50 but offer no insurance for anyone unti age 65,...con men at best.Imagine the deals they could offer on health insurance for those of us between 50 and 65, but then that would be work.
