It sounds like Israel may be wandering through the desert again.

Perhaps a desert of glass.

LOL. See, you’re proving my point. You’re not the least bit interested in logic or reasoning. You can’t get past your emotional reactions.

How do Peres & Bibi get along, anyone know? Peres might be likely to go with a man at the top instead of a woman. (?)

I don't know, they might get along fine, but you're talking far left politically vs mid right. And his party, Labor, would be number 2 in a Livni organized government, so I'm sure she would be his preference.

That said, while I've certainly poked fun at him many times, leftists love their country too, some even follow the law, so I suspect he'll give Bibi the shot at organizing the government.

[Although it looks as though Kadima will be the largest single party, as things stand it is nevertheless expected that it will be Benjamin Netanyahu who will be asked to try to form a government, since the right-wing block has a clear lead over the center-left block to which Kadima belongs. The result could however lead to a constitutional crisis, since as the largest party Kadima will claim that Tzipi Livni has the right to form a government.]

I hear that because right wing likud has a coalistion of votes in excess of the left, Benjamin Neteyahu will probalbly be the next Prime Minister and that is good for Israel.

[snip] proud of the gains by his hardline party. Exit polls show Likud coming in second, but in a better position to lead a coalition government because of a strong showing by other nationalist parties. [end]

According to Arutz Sheva, Feiglin was 37. Likud lost votes to Yisrael Beitenu, the big winner tonight.

perhaps it’s the cumulative effect of widespread drug use.

G-d endorses political candidates?
Obviously you've missed Shas, Mafdal and United Torah Judaism rallies.

Not that I disagree with their political positions, but that's Shas, Mafdal and United Torah Judaism arrogance. None of their leaders are Prophets.

"Can the Religious Orthodox parties ally with LiKud and Yisrael Beiteinu?

With Likud, yes. With Beiteinu, not so much. Beitenu is very hawkish but also very secular. The Russian-Israelis are big backers of Beiteinu. Beiteinu wants the Yeshiva boys to serve in the Army. They also want the Arabs to serve and to take a loyalty oath (or else leave). Equal rights, equal obligations.

So how long do Israeli lawsuits take to conclude that a winner was elected? Faster or slower than the US?

Kadima wins; Labor crashes

Labor crashing is much bigger news than Kadima eeking out a close victory over Likud. The coalition gov't will take a big lurch to the right, especially with the Yisrael Beiteinu party making such big gains, passing Labor as the third largest in Israel.
