Specter is approaching 80 and I read that his cancer is back. I don’t think he is in any shape to run in 2010. That’s why this RINO has no fear of any blow back.

Notice they all look like they’re in need of blood.

Blood sucking vampires, all of them.

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

I told a nationally known leading conservative in a conversation I had with him on Sunday, that if Steele screws up, in just one way, many of the conservative bloggers I know will leave the party.

I consider this a screw up on his part.

He should be raining these guys in and doing it with joy in his heart.

It was all a set up.

I hope Specter gets forced into a primary, and loses.

Be careful what you wish for. That's actually a scenario the Dems are counting on to build their Senate majority. (The thinking being that whoever defeats Specter in the primary will be seen as "too conservative," and that person will in turn be defeated in the general.)

I remember my daughter going to her first school board meeting. “Mom, you could talk forever. They had their mind made up before the meeting”.

“Guess the BOY President can now claim it is a Bi-partisan bill.”

If what MM is reporting is true (see below), it sure will give him alot more cover.

The buzz on the Hill is that Mitch McConnell is ready to fold, three more Senate Republicans may be joining the Turncoat Caucus.

I have started typing a reply to a post that got my attention at least 20 times today, and then stopped and went back. It just doesn’t seem to matter anymore. This is what people wanted-they will say all day that they want a free America, they don’t want socialism-they don’t seem to realise that they want everything but the name. They want government to take care of them, and they don’t want to have to make any real effort in exchange. They can’t understand that at some point, for them to receive, someone has to produce, and after all the incentive to produce has been eroded, government will have to force production, which will mean the minimum effort for minimum reward. That’s what’s coming. Anyone who wants to escape the forced heroin (nanny government) addiction will have to get to a remote area, learn to grow their food, learn to live without mod cons, and stay armed. If that’s not enough, well then-like my patriot forefathers-I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

I don’t know, I’m asking the question. If there are no viable candidates to challenge them, then they are re-elected for lack of anything better.

I'd rather have someone I know to be an enemy instead of a friend I can't depend on. At least I will know when I have to fight rather than being stabbed in the back at the last possible moment.

Yes, I'd rather have a Democrat than a RINO.

Maybe years from now after a very long, extended, bad economy, we can build a monument to commemorate these leaders that laid the groundwork for it. It will be something that all citizens can visit and use to recall the past like the “wall”. The wall will have pictures on it of Harry, Nancy, Arlen, Barney; all of the greats. And when Americans visit this wall, they can drop their pants and express their opinions in a visceral way that even libs can understand about what they did to us.

No Obama wants Marxist revolution.

he may get his wish and he might end up being on the losing side. I know for a fact that many Dems are not happy with him right now and there are many that still don’t have a clue what’s going on.

The following is one of the best, most concise responses I have read regarding this debacle and echoes my own sentiments. Unfortunately, I cannot take credit it for it, but will repost: (from Pajama Media)

More to the point, The One’s attempts to frighten us into swallowing his $1.1 trillion (once interest, etc., is figured in) crap sandwich carefully fails to mention two salient points;

1. This is all deficit spending. He anticipates borrowing the money, as we don’t have it. The question is, who’s going to lend it to him? China? Europe? The corporations he blames for the mess? Or is he going to balance the books by the time-honored method of seizing private assets “for the greater good”? Has he even thought this far ahead? (My guess is, “no”, as logic does not seem to be The Lightworker’s strong suit.)

2. He claims we need this “right now”, but even his staunchest supporters (Reich, Reid, etc.) admit that none of it will “kick in” for at least two years. This sounds to me suspicioualy like the old political gambit of waiting for things to get better on their own, and then claiming credit for it. If so, why do we need to spend money we don’t have anyway?

3. Demagoguery is quick, satisfying, and gives the one using it a feeling of power, especially if he has a Greek chorus of news media who are singing backup. What it doesn’t do is make the impossible possible, no matter what numbers are hallucinated by whom (hat tip to Scott Adams). If The One doesn’t believe this, he might want to look up the political careers of Ramsay MacDonald, Herbert Hoover, Juan and Eva Peron’, and of course Jimmy Carter. To say nothing of Benito Mussolini, who after 21 years was fired by his own government not just for getting his country into an unwinnable war, but also for transforming the third-strongest economy in Europe (after Britain and France- 1922) into the second-weakest within a decade (the only one weaker was Albania-1933). By methods remarkably similar to those The One advocates in the name of “sacrifice” and “bi-partisanship”.

The greatest fallacy of “progressivism” is the belief that socialism, syndicalism, etc., can be made to work, but that everyone else who ever tried it just “didn’t get it right”, and the modern, “enlightened” progressives will avoid their mistakes. In reality, it is no more possible to “get socialism right” than it is to “get the phlogiston theory of combustion right”- because both are based on fundamental misunderstandings of how the real world works.

Of course, as a lifelong politician and “community organizer”, The One’s contact with reality is at best slight and uncertain. Something those who voted for him should have realized before doing so.
