Emanuel: White House not 'amateur hour' Jon Ward (Contact)
Defending the White House in the wake of Sen. Judd Gregg's withdrawal as Commerce Secretary, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said it is not "amateur hour" and that the Obama administration is still doing better than President Clinton was at this point.
"Some may call it amateur hour. Having been in two separate White Houses, I'm more than and within our third week given this set of accomplishments measure them up," said Mr. Emanuel, who served as a senior adviser in the Clinton White House from 1993 to 1998.
Mr. Gregg, New Hampshire Republican, withdrew his nomination nine days after it was announced. The senator cited "irresolvable conflicts" over their conflicting positions on the economic recovery bill and on operations for the 2010 Census.
Mr. Emanuel said winning passage of the $789 billion recovery spending bill Congress is rushing to beat a weekend deadline for getting the bill to Mr. Obama will overshadow the bumps.
"I think the president has always indicated there will be days where there are setbacks, days where there will be disappointments, but as long as we're moving forward those will be bright days not just for us but in fact the American people, he said. "Let's be honest: will the economic recovery or Judd Gregg be a bigger discussion point a week from now?"

“White House not ‘amateur hour’”
Try “Year of the commies...”
Wanna second opinion?
Never mind, I’ll opt to continue posting here for the time being....just use yer imagaination
So you’re saying you sucked at your job then?
Actions speak louder than words, Ballerina Boy.
And if it’s not Amateur Hour, why do you feel the need to go on record denying it’s Amateur Hour?
they control the house, senate and the white house. and the are still having trouble getting bills passed. the ones they do are only done through lies and deceit.
yeah thats leadership. /vomit
Methinks the Rahm doth protest too much.
I can’t think of a time when I was more proud of my senior senator. Jugg, you done the right thing, and I appreciate it.
so let me get this straight
compared to a complete screw up the last time this one is only slightly better ...HAHAHAHAHAHAH
let me also point out on a really serious issue — his learning lesson the last time caused the death of 18 heros in Somalia...are we looking at a slightly less of a screw up this time...what 15 lives?? is that considered better...
these guys are floundering around in the WH...
a telepromter reader and a guy who feels using a paragraph from his cv about major screw ups from the death of soldiers to the lying under oath of a president...wow one can only imagine how much ‘better’ it will be this time...
I was thinking more in the line of Cartoon Hour. See, you have Obama and Hillary. It’s like a bad Disney movie— Bambi and the Beast — only there ain’t no happy ending. The warm up to the main show is Rahm as Wile E. Coyote - Super Genius. I’m just hoping this isn’t a double feature.
Hey Al Capone, who you trying to fool...?
Hey Rahm, an hour I could stand, 4 years will kill us all.
I wonder how much Gregg owes in back taxes?????????????
It seems like a lot of people are shying away from Zero because he is too radical.
The circus has come to town and the clowns are in control. Cotton candy and confetti for everyone. Unfortunately for obozo, the audience is not amused.
Was it ever determined to whom he was making that face?
Zero is surrounded by Clintonite pros yet still stumbles around like a clown. Something still smells funny and I think it’s ole Crusty.
oops, looks like I should a looked first.
Gregg probably sensed a loser scenario where he was sorting out deck chairs on the Titanic. I’m hoping someone debriefs him on what he read or was told about the oppositions agendas.
Democrats are going to have a hard time just because the media ignores their sins. That means their sins tend to pop up like roaches when they get into the light.
Yeah, I can think of one difference between “Ted Mac’s Amateur Hour” and the Obama Administration; Ted Mac new what he was doing.
“Emanuel: White House not ‘amateur hour’”
You could have fooled me.
Oh. Well, then. If Rahm Emmanuel says it, it MUST be true.
I will now have their theme song in my head as well as visions of Mean Gene, the dancing machine, in my head for the rest of the day. :-)
Claiming not to be Amateur Hour means they are actually Amateur Year.
I would say Emanuel has got his butt in a sling for pure unadulterated failure
Chuck Burris grab your gong and get thy self to Washington, D.C.! Set it up right outside Congress.
"Never let a crisis go to waste." is a well-known rule for any practicing propagandist.
Let's be honest Rahm: If the press wasn't biased and you weren't permitted the luxury of daily conference calls with them....yes, Judd Gregg and 0bama's inability to fill his cabinet would and should be a discussion. Along with 0bama is using the 'economic crisis and porkulus to divert attention away from confirmation hearings. Away from all the questionable people of poor character 0bama is choosing. Indeed Rahm, let us not allow a crisis to go unabused.
That is the true comparison. The ongoing comedy in the White House is the Gong Show.
Nope - So far, it’s AMATEUR MONTH!!
According to Obama...
Warning: Foul Language (but it is hilarious)
I think what he is trying to say is, it is Amateur Hour. I mean, why would he say it if it hadn't occurred to him? He sees Obama up close and personal every day, I'm guessing, and by now he must realize that Obambi really is a babe in the woods.
In the South we have a saying when something like this occurs:
"Hit dog hollers"....
Where there’s smoke there’s fire, Emmanuel.
The tragic New York plane crash is over shadowing Tu-Tu boy's bill he is trying to ram thru today.
He's likely dancing on his toes because the airways aren't filled with "stimulus" talk.
The decent thing to do is postpone the vote.
I trust that the Republicans will take a sober observation of what's happened to two of them in the past few days in terms of their working with this collection of two-bit street hustling thugs. First, we have good ol’ Jugg suckered into a BS job and stripped of the census. And from what I read late yesterday, Menendez from the Dems announced that they have targeted Arlen (Judas)Spector’s Senate seat in the next election cycle, after good ol’Arlen sucked up to them and helped pass the stimulus package.
I agree, it's more like the Bong Show
Now we have a quote which can characterize the Obama administration: "This is not amateur hour."
So lemme get this right.... Emmanuel’s, and by extension Obama’s, defense is now.. “AM NOT!!!!”
To deny or defend such a statement makes it true for sure.
If the derissive claims of “amateur hour” at the WH have reached sufficient volume that Emanuel feels the need to deny them, then—I think—there is “amateur hour” at the WH.
The Marxist Onada’s first three or four weeks in office have been the most tumultuous I can remember. And I’m 65 years old.
Watching the media spin a 10 pt rise in the Dow as a “rebound” would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic. Watching the media spin the tax problems of so many of Onada’s appointment and appointment candidates as just “honest” mistakes would be ludicrous if it wasn’t so tragic. I mean, these are the best people The Messiah can find? Watching the media breathlessly report The Marxist Onada’s dialog overtures to Middle East terrorists would be laugable it wasn’t so tragic. I mean, what part of “we will convert, enslave and’or kill you” does he not understand?
I guess Geithner saw the thread I posted Tuesday. LOL
“Geithner’s plan falls flat (Amateur Hour in D.C.)”
Why is Emanuel throwing the Clintons under the bus? Doesn’t he think obama needs Hillary and Bill? Or is he just a dufus? Very odd.
