Rod Blagojevich's brother asked Roland Burris for up to $10,000 in campaign donations before Burris was appointed to the U.S. Senate by then-Gov. Blagojevich of Illinois, a Burris spokesman told FOX News.
Sen. Burris didn't make the donation but failed to disclose the request under oath before an Illinois House impeachment panel.
Now state House Republicans say they want Burris investigated for perjury.
The Chicago Sun-Times first reported on its web site Saturday that Burris made the disclosure in a new affidavit sent to the head of the state committee that recommmended Blagojevich be removed from office.
According to the nwespaper, the affidavit is dated Feb. 5 -- three weeks after Burris was sworn in to fill President Obama's former Senate seat.
Burris says he sent the affidavit to Illinois House majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie when he realized his testimony before the committee wasn't complete.

Yee haw! Now that Burris has admitted he’s a liar (or at least a convenience truth-teller) maybe an R or at least a halfway competent D will have a chance when his seat is up in 2 years.
In the meantime I hope the prosecute the SOB for perjury.
Hey Roland, yer “tainted” now!

He should be a model Senator. Until he is replaced by the venerable "Al Franken" as the #1 model of virtue of government representation.

I guess the price of Senate Seats is deflating badly. Mark Warner spent $M and had to run twice to get his. Imagine how bad he must feel after Burris only had to cough up $10K.

Regretfully, I must decline your kind offer...
I'm going to insist that Ted Kennedy be first, to prevent him dying an undeserved natural death in his bed....
Then Kerry must immediately follow Kennedy, I owe it to some Marine brothers I loved dearly.
Then Durbin, then Schumer, then Boxer, then Reid, then "Leaky" Leahy, then "Specs" Levin, then Boxer, then Wyden......then, let the mob have their way with the rest..

Nothing nutty about that statement.
Personally I am disgusted by the price put on this seat. It should be worth a lot more than that.

How much did obozos COS Rahm Immanuel offer during his many talks w/Blago? Beats me, but we do know that Rahmbo was all over the talk shows from the moment of his appointment as COS until Blago blew up. Emanuel then disappeared until the day before the inauguration.
Emanuel is neck deep in this, which we can only hope comes out during Blago's federal trial.
