Starve The Beast (A FR Actvism Thread to Combat the Rape of the American Taxpayer)
my derranged cerebrum | Feb. 15th 2009 | Mad Dawgg

Posted on 02/15/2009 11:52:47 AM PST by Mad Dawgg

This Thread is to bring together Freepers to institute a legal way to Starve the US government of our Tax Dollars. Please add any and all suggestions to this thread for legal ways to STARVE THE BEAST!

Spread the Word to your Non-Freeper Friends. Show people how to keep more of their hard earned money and get more back from Uncle Obama.

OK so here goes:

So you feel like its all hopeless. You feel the inmates are in charge of the asylum.

Yeah its bad BUT there is something we can all do. AND it benefits yourself WHILE putting it to the looters in Washington.

First understand that the engine that drives Liberalism/ Socialism is taxpayer money. Without it they can't do all the crap they wish to.

So the first thing to do is strangle the dollars going to Washington on a weekly basis.

How you ask? Its simple really. Contact your employer and change your withholding on your W-2 Forms. Claim more dependents. This takes less out of your paycheck to send to Washington. (I suggest you claim one or two more than you actually have.)

Take that extra money per pay period and put it in a local bank in a Savings or Money Market account.

If at Tax Time you then owe some back you have it in your savings and you have made money on it rather than giving Uncle Sam a tax free loan on your money.

The next thing you can do is turn a hobby or interest into a legal side business and use it for more tax deductions. (Contact your accountant on the particulars on how to legally do such)

One of the benefits of turning a hobby into a side business is you can take a holiday vacation and legally turn most of it into a tax deduction.

Rather than schemes that might get people into trouble, a perfectly legal way to do things is to embarrass politicians on video over the fact that illegal aliens can get jobs under the plan. Ask a supporter about that on video, and upload it to Youtube. Here’s a question:

To me, at some point, we are all going to have to make the choice as to what level of civil disobedience we want to participate in. The government is great at continuing to make ‘laws’ and they know that most people want to ‘do the right thing’ and ‘not break laws.’ But when is enough enough? Who will be the next Rosa Parks and say NO. I am not sitting at the back of the bus. Screw the laws. Do whatever you want to me, but I’m not following this law. At some point, we are going to have to have the courage to stand up and say NO MORE.

Signing the Declaration of Independence was obviously illegal and treasonous, but the founding fathers DID IT ANYWAY, because it was the right thing to do. Do we have enough courage to sign our own “Declaration of Independence” from the Federal Government? They have committed practically the same abuses that the British did back then. I for one am getting sick and tired of saying “Yes sir and may I please have another” to the government. Soon more drastic action needs to be taken and if millions are willing to band together and do something, great things can be accomplished.

I’m just sayin’....

Just think of Joe Biden telling you to do the patriotic thing and pay more taxes with every economic choice that you make.

Personally, I have acquired skills and tools that allow me to avoid costs for vehicle and house upkeep, thus avoiding paying taxes on goods and services that I would have to otherwise purchase.

Another important step is to start a small business. Talk to your accountant, he'll surprise you with all of the deductions that are available. You don't need to leave your current job to do this. It's a great _legal_ way to keep more of your money.

The last suggestion is to get the book _Your Money or Your Life_. It's available on amazon for cheap or free at your local library. This book transforms lives. (no, I'm not connected to the author in any way, just a satisfied customer)

Mad Dawgg: ping to 70.

kcvl: you got me, but you were intending to get Mad Dawgg who favors the more archaic spelling of our surname.

Great idea—keep this type of post coming!

My suggestion: BARTER

Make clean, confidential trades with suppliers, vendors, customers, friends and family.

I, of course, would NEVER do this without reporting it to the IRS as income.

Not so sure this one is a good idea right now. Democrats are tinkering with the idea of meddling with the 401k and IRAs. Use caution.

AMEN! I'm so glad I read to the end of the thread and saw your wonderful post.

Do we have enough courage to sign our own “Declaration of Independence” from the Federal Government?

IMO, after a number of conversations with folks I thought would want to fight, NO!

if millions are willing to band together and do something, great things can be accomplished.

I couldn't agree more. I suggested a tax holiday on April 15th - IF - we could be assured of 10-20 million to join in. I was told "they" would pic 3-400 of us and throw the book at them and the rest would fold like cheap suits. Now what?!?!

Agreed.

Among the amendments I find that there is protection from 'involuntary servitude' (13th). In my opinion, each individual has the responsibility to decide how much to feed the beast. The government can _not_ make you work more than you wish to in order to pay for their scheming. You decide what you want your income to be. Not them.

“First understand that the engine that drives Liberalism/ Socialism is taxpayer money.”

Federal taxes collected, of all variety, have been used to undermine our freedoms in a lock-step march toward socialism/marxism. This has been an ongoing process since the income tax was instituted in 1913. In this same year, the federal govt also placed our monetary system into the hands of international private bankers. Coincidence? Nope.

Since that time, private bankers and the fed govt have played us like caged hampsters on spinning wheels.

Three years ago we got a grant [federal] to buy a new home. We were told by the legal people that we could change our deductions to cover the reality of the grant, to get more back out of our paycheck instead of waiting to file the return.

To add another thing to this list, garden as much as you can for whatever you would eat. Non taxable.

Buy some things now that you could perhaps barter with. You can also barter your time/work. Do something for someone else in exchange for something you need.

Adding to the list, I can get deferred compensation, the taxes are there when you actually get the money which can be several years down the road.
I don’t know how many would qualify for that, but it is available to me.

For all the suggestions about 401ks and IRAs, how do we know they won’t be confiscated by a government that cares nothing for constitutional restraints?

That is an interesting point about no sales tax in Delaware. My son said they have some tax free days [sales tax free] in Atlanta and people wait to buy big ticket items then. I thought it was in September.

Are there any other places that do this?
