My attitude on race has PROFOUNDLY changed.

Oh, so has mine!
man....i really hate this administration
Ironic how so many black leaders are actually high yellow. (mullato)
do run of the mill blacks in the projects or sugar ditch farm shanties not see they being duped by crackers-lite?
Since when?
as a southerner this sort of stuff is old news to us....3 decades now at least post segregation and how that has played out
i just had a conversation with an old uncle about this last week....how being accomodating 40 years ago has borne bitter fruit and are we ALL really better off?
my family was all quite pro civil rights back when it mattered yet now everyone feels like the worst fears of the segregationists have come to pass and are getting worse....I hear this as a final lament from dying relatives in formerly white communities now crumbling under black political machine rule
I fear none of this will end well.
That's right, we've had so many laws regarding racism and lectures about cultural sensitivity and political correctness that we are afraid to say or do anything without looking around to see who might be offended.
There is no typhus in Moscow.
“as a southerner this sort of stuff is old news to us”
Yep....i could tell some stories about Yankees coming to a revelation.
I share your concern.
There’re plenty on FR that are naive as hell.
Whites feel guilty for being white these days. Whites don't go around thinking, "I'm really proud to be white".
Minorities are allowed to have pride in their heritage but not whites.
I don't care who mixes with who but on the basis of race, there is a two class system: whites and non-whites and the latter is held in higher esteem and respect than the former.
Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday that despite advances, the United States remains a nation of cowards on issues involving race.
If Eric Holder is so anti-coward, why isn’t he willing to say what he means instead of talking in code to like minded people? Holder can’t even bring himself to admit that the American people consciously elected a black president. Instead, we “deal with the reality of electing an African-American, for the first time...” .
[” the nation still had not come to grips with its racial past” ]
Huh? I thought that we were dealing “with the reality of electing an African-American, for the first time”
But a couple of other indications of what the Administration has in store are so earth shaking (coming from an Attorney General) that implications concerning his courage become trivial.
[”the country is now a fundamentally different place than it used to be.”]
Fundamentally different? What? Isn’t it this guy’s job to uphold the law and the U.S. Constitution?
[”nor has it been willing to contemplate, in a truly meaningful way, the diverse future it is fated to have.]
We’re FATED to have a diverse future? Does “diverse” mean that mean a different set of laws for different races? Does it mean Sharia Law (happening soon in Europe) for our Muslim population? Holy Cow! Isn’t it Holder’s DUTY to spell this out?
Holder is not the first liberal who has advocated some sort of national discussion about “race”. These nuts have been demanding some sort of talk about “race” for decades. Exactly what are people supposed to discuss? Find some person of a different ethnic persuasion and start yammering about grievances? To what end? The whole idea is so incredibly stupid, it could only have originated from a liberal. Their whole motive about this “talk” is that people who are not considered black will understand how evil they’ve been and why reparations or some sort of financial allotment toward people who are black will be necessary. It has nothing to do with creating or fostering good will between “whites” and “blacks”.
“Why is the Attorney General making such stupid incendiary POLITICAL statements?”
Because we have a stupid, incendiary administration, characterized by bad judgment, lack of wisdom, inexperienced, and with a racist, anti-American agenda.
Most of the racially naive live in la la land suburbia/exurbia.
Ever since I heard the hate speech from Reverend wright, my eyes were once again opened to the real problem out there. Sharpton, Jackson had been irrelevant for years but Wright and his kind changed my attitude on the state of race relations in this country.
Sounds like Holder is setting the stage for reparations. This will not end well. A scary thought, it actually reminds me of Charles Manson’s grand plan of Helter Skelter
The media worked very hard to make Rev Wright irrelevant -- why did Republicans keep bring him up?? Obama left that church! This is old news! Can we talk about the issues???
I think we see now how important race hatred is to Obama and his crowd. Rev Wright was a key datapoint that didn't stay on the radar screen nearly long enough.
The transition back to reality is going to be painful.
