Alan Keyes, a 2008 presidential candidate who is also a plaintiff in one of the many lawsuits challenging Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility to occupy the Oval Office, charged at a pro-life rally that unless Obama's social and economic policies are stopped, the United States as we know it is over.
Keyes' comments were part of an interview with a reporter from KHAS-TV at a fundraiser for the AAA Crisis Pregnancy Center in Hastings, Neb.
"Obama is a radical communist, and I think it is becoming clear. That is what I told people in Illinois and now everybody realizes it's true," said Keyes, who ran unsuccessfully against Obama for the state's open Senate seat in 2004. "He is going to destroy this country, and we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist."
Keyes also reasserted his belief that unless the question of Obama's eligibility to serve as president is answered definitively, America may face the startling crisis of an executive branch run by a "usurper."
"Is he president of the United States?" Keyes asked the reporter of Obama. "According to the Constitution, in order to be eligible for president you have to be a natural born citizen. He has refused to provide proof.”
"I'm not sure he's even president of the United States," Keyes continued, "neither are many of our military people now who are now going to court to ask the question, 'Do we have to obey a man who is not qualified under the constitution?' We are in the midst of the greatest crisis this nation has ever seen, and if we don't stop laughing about it and deal with it, we're going to find ourselves in the midst of chaos, confusion and civil war."
Keyes, who stated he refuses even to refer to Obama as president, labeled the man in the Oval Office as "somebody who is kind of an alleged usurper, who is alleged to be someone who is occupying that office without constitutional warrant to do so."
Keyes' comments included harsh criticism of Obama's policies on immigration, abortion, and the mortgage crisis.
He concluded the interview by railing against the president's push for hundreds of billions of dollars in government economic stimulus spending.
"We are claiming that a bankrupt government can save a bankrupt banking system", Keyes said.

Disclaimers such as these will keep him down too. It is the foolishness of pragmatism that criticizes true statesmen and gives bubble-headed posers swift acclaim.
I know some people that voted for him that are sick of him already. That had no idea he was a total control freak dictator.

Well that is a hopeful sign.
The 2nd Amendment, according to the founders original intent, was precisely to keep enough of the common people armed so that they could pose a credible threat and stop[ gap to any soundrel and wanna-be tyrant from taking over this country.
Hunting and self defense against local criminals was taken for granted.
It has succeeded in that goal for all of these years and I expect it will continue to do so.
I am not looking for a fight...but I want the pols to know that there are tens of millions of Americans who would give them one if they ever step over the line.
As long as they don't...we certainly would not consider it.
That said, this article and the things discussed here are meant to educate others to the true nature of our crisis so we can turn it around (beginning in 2010) well short of any such eventuality.
The DBM opinion polls will never show the actual poll of real Americans because Zer0 is too big to fail. They helped create him and until the DBM is no longer viable, neither will Zer0 be nonviable.
Critical thinking Americans who love this country and understand what is at stake will be the ones sounding the clarion call. It starts now and local groups as called for by Jim Robinson will be the starting place. Some true conservative politicians who see the emergence of the ground swell will respond and tailor their campaigns appropriately.
The focus right now needs to be on making some inroads in 2010 with Congress. Recovery of some lost seats will position the conservative movement for 2012.
The first 30 days have been a political disaster in spite of the lack of reporting. There is real anger in America over what has happened thus far and the tolerance for much more of the past 30 days will only give legs to the revolution....
As a candidate, the appeal of Alan Keyes has always been stunted by his hyperventilated rhetoric that divides conservatives, more than unites us.
Btw, Reagan was successful with 80% of his policy agenda and that was fine by me.

It’s not my statement about an armed revolution that I’m talking about. I’ve already made it clear, on my behalf, that I’m not about to participate in any way, fashion or form, in an armed revolution — but only — by means of the political mechanisms...

No, I’m in full support of all of the Bill of Rights, including the one on one’s rights to have them. That’s fine.
The part that I’m not about to support, is an armed revolution — and in light of the statement up above that you asked “why was it necessary to say” -— it’s because of that — that I reply that I’ll *only* be participating in “political mechanisms” to make changes and not any armed revolution using any of the guns or ammo that I possess (of which possession of such is in the Bill of Rights, all of them which I support).
You can see — now — why someone had to say (up above) —

When Mike Ditka refused to run, Alan Keyes accepted a thankless, no-win task from the Illinois GOP - at the last minute - in that senate race and now, because he never had a prayer, and predictably lost in a 'blue' state, he's the problem? That's absurd.
Now, we’re getting lectured from the same people that brought Obama to power by their ineptitude.
Keyes is saying what most Republicans and even most conservatives - unless they can do so anonymously, on the internet, where everyone is brave - are afraid to say about Obama and his plans to destroy the U.S.A. as we know it. If that is a 'lecture', it's aimed at the general public. You can excuse yourself.
Wake me when this nightmare is over.
It'll be far too late then. Wake up now or it definitely will be over for our nation and our freedom - and there won't be anyone to blame but the apathetic and those who, when warned, wanted to disparage the messenger.
Alan needs to be an intregal part of this effort in the area where he excels like no other, and that is expounding on the truth of the situation as it relates to our constitutional republic and its founding principles and thus being a strong part of the overall effort to turn this around.
But that is just my opinion.

And thus, we have a group who say “We’re *only* talking about change via the political mechanisms” — versus — others who say “We’ll engage in armed revolution if we have to do so.”
So, that’s why it was brought up and said.... LOL..
And, by the way, I’m in the camp that says change must be brought about *only* through the political mechanisms that our founding fathers gave us. They had their armed revolution and gave a government that would make it possible to make all the changes that the people voted on, instead of an armed revolution...
America essentially became a larger version of Jonestown in November 2008.
Our only hope is to somehow get Congress back in 2010.
Otherwise, America is finished.
Alan Keyes could have been the first Black president. But the media made him the invisible man. They didn’t trash him because that would have given him publicity. Instead they totally ignored him.

Yes, the only reason I mention it is because our opposition reads this forum and loves to take statements out of context with the purpose of marginalizing us.
What crime would he be guilty of if he knowingly ran for president while not a natural-born citizen and participated in a conspiracy to cover that up?
The question is whether or not these folks will vote the correct way in November 2010.

They sure didn't. I talked to several liberals about bambi's ties to communists, terrorists, and all manner of evil people, and they didn't contest it, they just didn't care. They were bound to vote for the cool black guy no matter what. It is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen in my life and we are just beginning to pay the piper for it.
That's what Keyes IS.
