RUSH: Now, a couple words here about Bobby Jindal. There's a great disconnect, ladies and gentlemen, between the Beltway pundits in the Drive-By Media -- and I, sadly, have to include the Fox News All Stars in this. We live in a world obviously where style counts for more than anything else, and that's not good. Obama's a great stylist, a great orator, who gave great speech last night. But if you listen to it, it was meaningless. It had all kinds of lies.
Those of us who studied Obama know exactly what he's going to do. He's going to grow the government as big as he can. He's going to expand the government sector. He's going to do it at the expense of the high end of the private sector. He's going to do this. He's got the votes, by the way. If his speech created a bump in his approval numbers, he's got the votes to do anything he wants. He can do cap-and-trade, and he can do health care reform in 30 days. He can do socialized medicine. He can do whatever he wants as soon as he wants depending on the bump and the bounce he gets out of this speech, and I fully expect that the Drive-Bys will run polls showing that his approval numbers are way, way up. But the market is way, way down.

He’s doing a great job on Hannity right now.
I thought Bobby Jindal did exceptionally well. He clearly stated the differences between the Elephants and the Jack@sses. Elephants are renown for long memory, while Jack@sses, well we all know don’t we?
Jindal clearly defined the GOP in his response.
He certainly is. I’m listening now. Sean played the fawning media’s statements about him, even the “Oh, God!” statement and he just laughed at it. He then said that if he had come on there with a speech about more government spending, the media would have praised him.
He is impressive.
After he got everyone snoring about his history and heaping praise on the opposition, he manged to sneak in the real content that might appeal to a sensible person. He put it in in low, barely audible terms and I'm sure, if anyone had stayed tuned until then, the message was unintelligible or, at the minimum, not well emphasized as to stick in their mind.

I thought he did fine. Sure as hell better than Nancy Pelosi after a Bush speech.
My mother who is not a political person liked Bobby Jindal. She thinks people will prefer someone like him after a couple of years of Obama.
But... if Rush had his style of delivery, Rush would not have a radio show that was successful. Bobby needs work on his delivery.
Here’s an idea for Rush: get Alan Keyes on his program for at least the first hour, and have Keyes explain in DETAIL why 0bama is a Communist (per Keyes’ recent statements), and why 0bama MUST be made to prove his Constitutional eligibility to serve as POTUS.
Rush? You got any stones man?
Here’s how you demonstrate that. Any talk show host can say that 0bama ‘lies’, but YOU have the ability to expose the most fundemental 0bama-lie of all.
Somehow I suspect that all we’re going to hear are crickets chirping.
Jindal is fine, and will be fine. Great articulator of conservatism.
That silly speech last night won’t be remembered.
BUT this speech was supposed to be,
a) a refutation of Obamarat policy to destroy America
b) to introduce Jindal to the national public with obvious glanes towards 2012
He did not deliver. The speech while better on substance than the Obamacrap, since truthful, was badly delivered and marred by undue praising of Obama.
While Jindal is a fine guy, the speech was not.
Just forget it, move on and do better next time. This isn't the end of the world, but we shouldn't try to spin it into a brilliant masterpiece.
This is how he talks all the time. Maybe I’m just used to hearing it because I’m from Louisiana. When Hurricane Gustiv and Ike were threatening our shores last fall, he was all over the TV talking and talking giving very detailed information about what we should do and what the state was doing.
And frankly, I don’t know what all the hoopla is about how much Obama is such a fabulous speaker. I’ve never understood it.
He was unusually nervous last night. Not sure why because he normally does a good job of looking confident.
Maybe he was over coached.
I think we'll just have to attribute last night's performance to nerves?
There was no pizazz because he was in a room alone. His ideas were great and his delivery was above average. When he gets a chance to put this pitch in front of a crowd he will light it up. Good job Gov.
I think that format sucks. Rarely does anyone look good.
Believe me, if Jindal debates Obama, it will be an absolute blood bath.
Sorry to say that I disagree with Rush on this one... First time (okay second time).
He is/has become just another of the insider Republican politicians (used to be an outsider) probably due to his association with said junkies... He gave a poor response - even though he does better ad-lib, and he deserves the let-down from Conservatives.
I would have much preferred some fiery non-politician to actually respond to the horrible spending and stupid plans of this administration - but, what can you expect. They have to go along with the perceived polls I’d guess...
Too bad... I use to think that he had a good chance because he was NOT of the current political class - but they apparently got hold of him and changed his ways...
Big Guy, don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining. You are not The Most Dangerous Man In America merely because you are an ardent, principled conservative. You are The Most Dangerous Man In America because you can be all that in a good-natured, entertaining manner. Substance matters. But so does style. Bobby Jindal needs to work on his style.
