Just the twoo of us: Meet Orbit the orphaned owl and his toy companion
CLAIRE ELLICOTT 25th February 2009.
In his five short weeks of life, Orbit hasn't met many other owls.
So he isn't at all worried that his new best friend doesn't hoot back.
The orphaned chick is perfectly content in the company of the stuffed bird perched next to him and is never far from his side.

Orbit, a common barn owl, was given the toy by Lyndsey Wood, his carer at Folly Farm, near Narberth in West Wales.
She said: 'A friend suggested that I find something like a toy owl to stop Orbit feeling lonely.
'I thought he might try to eat it, but he just cuddles up to it and goes to sleep.'

I know the feeling. I’ve felt this way ever since the election.

God makes babies so darned cute! I hope the owlette gets the very best care and love during his captivity...
What an adorable picture!
That’s so cute.
not pinging. Too cute and all that.
It’s times like this I wish I had a box of Kleenex.
And a deep fryer... ;o)

That is exactly what one of our cats looked like a few months back... He’s still a cutie though! :)
Awwwwww.....
My tomcat weighs 14 pounds, but he still thinks he’s a little bitty kitten.
This reminds me of the famous psych experiment 50 years ago when a baby monkey was placed in a cage with 2 fake “mommies”: one that was all wire but had a baby bottle full of milk, and the other that had no bottle but was all covered in felt.
The baby monkey went right away to the felt mommy & clung to it.
Proves to all the feminists out there that kids want a mother’s warmth & comfort, not just food.
Don’t you know it’s always the “big tough toms” who end up thinking they’re still tiny babies? It’s the “little, cute” ones that’ll put a whooping on you if you manage to irk them...the big fellows just want their ears scritched and tummy rubbed.
So very true - the alpha cat in my house is a little 8 lb ball of fluff.
