This is what America is about. Helping other epopel without being asked or obligated. Not like what Obama is 'making' us to do help other people out.

State Trooper of the Year Award to this lunatic cop.

Was he THAT desperate to make his ticket quota?

Good for Moffett — well done.

Is it just me, or is the story a little hazy on exactly what happened?

One thing the Obama administration will need to include in the next spending surge will be a special fund and department to deal with all the broken glass caused by a sonic boom when too many government employees pull their heads out of their butts at the same time.

The internet has saved countless people from government abuse.

Publicized public school abuses, university abuses, and shown daylight on some of the most ridiculous rules and regulations known to man by those in ‘authority’.

It is no wonder there are those in our government who want to ‘regulate’ the internet.

In many cases the internet is all that stands in the breach between our government and our constitutional rights.

On the one hand Colorado is in a cash crunch.

On the other hand the legislature is about to sign onto gay partner benefits.

That cop should be fired.

And people wonder why confidence in cops is plummeting.

Someone who has to fill a quota and is ignorant of the firestorm his stupidity will create when the press, internet, whatever gets ahold of it.

It truly amazes me that in this day and age, some people are under the assumption that they won’t be caught out doing something stupid or illegal (boy-crazy female teachers, thug cops, asinine zero-tolerance addicted school administrations, crooked politicians), the list can go on forever — and the stupidity goes on forever.

I totally agree this officer should be fired. Being a retired peace officer, many cities have hired an attorney or private person to “Monday morning quarterback” an officers actions that he has to make in a split second. Most peace officers make appropriate decisions and a handful just screw it up. But when you have a person, with no street experience, tries to second guess the officer, where will it end?? Not every incident can end happily or successful like it does on a 30 or 60 minute television program. Too many people are watching Cops or any of the other police programs and think they can determine what needs to be done in every situation.
Finally, every officer I know or have worked with, has the mind set they will never have to draw their weapons. Personally, I've had to draw in two different occurrences. Once in the military while trying to suppress fire directed at me and once when I was a sheriff's deputy in California while trying to stop a guy from killing his wife in a domestic disturbance call. While trying not to fire my weapon, in both cases wondering what retribution would result, got me wounded. If I would have done what I suppose to do, I would not have been wounded in either case. I did what an officer shouldn't have done and I hope to God no other officer will have to make the same mistake I did.
