Same old moral relativism of the Left.

Spot on. This headline could have been written 25 years ago by Newsweek, just change "Radical Islam" to "Soviet style socialism" and you have Newsweek's official position on US Soviet relations: you can't beat them so give concessions and hope for the best. I prefer what we did: challenge them and beat them.

It appears those in power from Europe to DC could not care less about citizens who are raped and murdered.

THEY are protected. THEY care about nothing but themselves.

Well, in the 1930’s we had people writing that fascism was a fact of life.

In the 1950’s, we had people writing that communism was a fact of life.

So what’s new? People will always try to rationalize evil institutions.

If I wanted to surrender what I believe in, my ethics, and my sense of right and wrong, I wouldn’t buy a copy of Newsweek to tell me how to do it. I could do it for nothing.

why the West needs to adopt a more sophisticated strategy toward Radical Islam.

The fact that he used the word "toward", rather than the word "against" is telling.

There is nothing more sophisticated than a coordinated land, air, and sea attack.

“Radical Islam is A Fact of Life. How To Live With it”

shouldn’t it read...”...how to die with it” ?

The 9/11/2001 attack on N.Y. was a direct assualt on capitalism; having long-ago indentified the fact that America’s power came from the success of its industry and its intelllectual capital the Trade Center was chosen as the locus of destroying both at once.

Why do you think they have been so patient about mounting a second attack? The effect of the rirst one’s still crumbling like a sheet of tempered glass viewed in slow-motion.

As it nears the full collapse of the pane tumbling in widening waves of pea-size pellets, we’re running madly about trying to scoop up the remains with safety nets made from whale netting.

Shouldn’t that headline have been “Resistance is Futile”?
