VICTORY: THIS IS HOW TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING (LOL!)
Capitol Climate Action ^ | 3/2/2009 | Too Ashamed To Say

Posted on 03/03/2009 7:21:35 AM PST by PreciousLiberty

More amazing images from the largest mass civil disobedience for the climate in U.S. history where thousands of activists shut down the Capitol Power Plant. The only way we’re going to solve the climate crisis is by coming together and taking action. Like this:

This is mainly a "caption the idiots" thread - these guys have the nerve to claim "VICTORY: THIS IS HOW TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING" on a day when it was about 20 degrees below normal in DC, with snow - on March 2. Note the parkas.

We're now to March, 2009 still deep in a solar minimum. Looks like the coming winter is going to be a bear as well. Nice economic times to face famine conditions from global cooling.

If you want more laughs, go to the site, then feel free to comment. ;-)

I guess they're just too stupid to understand that interfering with the operation of a power plant is considered domestic terrorism....

“when does a solar minimum translate to a solar maunder?”

It’s getting there. If we get to September still in the minimum (average sunspot numbers < 30 or so), that will put in the top 3% longest on the historical record (according to Hathaway’s group).

The more interesting datapoint is the (so far suppressed in peer reviewed journals) paper from the National Solar Observatory claiming that _independent of the 11 year sunspot cycle_ sunspot core temperatures will rise to the point where they are no longer visible by about 2015 (which will be near the cycle peak most likely BTW). That’s an entirely plausible explanation for the Maunder type events.

Scary stuff.

Those “climate change” activists are watermelons, green on the outside and red on the inside. The environment is just another excuse to do whatever is necessary to destroy this ineqqual society - trust me on that one, that’s how they think.

I'm in NC. Yesterday I cleaned 6 inches of Global Warming off my car.

Today, my car was frozen solid, even iced up on the inside. I've not needed to scrape the inside of the windshield since I lived in Maine.

All these global warming idiots can go pound sand.

The sun is not in a fixed spot, it travels through the galaxy like all the other stars and the planets. It is called a COSMIC YEAR. Takes about 225 million years for one COSMIC YEAR, for the sun to complete its trip through the galaxy. I only heard about this last year. Makes sense that THIS is what causes climate changes, like when it was WARMER during dinosaur era than it is now.

Period of the Sun’s Orbit around the Galaxy (Cosmic Year)
http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2002/StacyLeong.shtml
The sun is one of hundreds of billion of stars in our galaxy, the Milky Way. The galaxy is composed of gaseous interstellar medium, neutral or ionized, sometimes concentrated into dense gas clouds made up of atoms molecules, and dust. All of the matter — gas, dust, and stars — rotate around a central axis perpendicular to the galactic plane. The centrifugal force caused by the rotation balances out the gravitational force, which draw all the matter toward the center.

The mass is located within the circle of the Sun’s orbit through the galaxy is about 100 billion times the mass of the Sun. Because the Sun is about average in mass, astronomers have concluded that the galaxy contains about 100 billion stars within its disk.

All stars in the galaxy rotate around a galactic center but not with the same period. Stars at the center have a shorter period than those farther out. The Sun is located in the outer part of the galaxy. The speed of the solar system due to the galactic rotation is about 220 km/s. The disk of stars in the Milky Way is about 100,000 light years across and the sun is located about 30,000 light years from the galaxy’s center. Based on a distance of 30,000 light years and a speed of 220 km/s, the Sun’s orbit around the center of the Milky Way once every 225 million years. The period of time is called a cosmic year. The Sun has orbited the galaxy, more than 20 times during its 5 billion year lifetime. The motions of the period are studied by measuring the positions of lines in the galaxy spectra.

Global Warming Protestors take a break to warm their backsides at coal powered plant. "Hey," said one protestor, "I may be against global warming but I ain't freezing my buns off for Al Gore or anyone else."

As I have said elsewhere I wish every coal fired plant in the country would be forced to shut down completely for one week, zip, nada, off, nothing. The Great Zero could then use stimulus money to restart them But all the global warming freaks would be able to say look at how much better off we are (at least for the week) as they sit in the dark, with no refrigerators running, and no way to have their furnaces working.

All Hail the Global Warming Freaks.

I’ve seen how the MSM stages these shots. It’s a tight shot, because that’s all the people that showed up. They are attempting to give the impression of a much larger presence. Bet at least half of them are MSM extras from the camera crew inserted to pump up the image.

You hit the nail on the head. Of course, they have changed form global warming protesters to climate change protesters so they don’t look so ridiculous protesting in the middle of a snowstorm. (at least to themselves)

Remember when Gorbachev ended his reign on the former Soviet Union (thanks Mr. Reagan and Mrs. Thatcher) he began to travel the world as a newly fashioned environmental advocate. Interesting how they have now congregated in the climate change movement.

If the silly twits REALLY believed in what they’re saying, they’d stay home and turn the power off. But that would be a lot less comfortable, and no fun at all. It’s a sad fact, but true: it’s hard to pick up chicks when you’re alone and freezing in the dark.
